Okay Natalia is absolutely beautiful. But the screen is really squished so it ruins the effect. I wonder if UA-cam CAN FIX THAT, THANKS! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
She has a very unique port de bras in this... I've never seen another ballerina do it this way. It can be lovely at times, during the lifts and the assisted turns, but I don't care for the very open arms in 5th... prefer the finger tips held 2 inches apart.
I do think that Osipova could afford to workon her adagio work more, some obvious wobbles in what should be a pristine Act, but no matter. She has many stellar years ahead of her. I am surprised at how strong her portrayal is, but of course there is room for development- far from Cojocaru's standard (she too is my favourite :D)
I'm pleasantly surprised. I often find that Osipova is too eager to show of her speed and extensions, and is thus best suited to roles like Kitri, but I thought this was a great performance with real emotion. Moreover, at the end of the day she's still young and has plenty of time / opportunities to develop and it's not like every other dancer is suited to every single role they dance. Bravo Osipova!
i dont find her as naturally enchanting nor inspiring as other ballerinas in this role, such as lunkina or obratzsova. in this ballet, i enjoyed watching her in the peasant pd2 much more :)
Sorry, but I disagree with most of you. First, she changes the choreography when she bends forward and does not bringher leg up in front of her before bringing it into second. Then she bourees back with her arms completely limp without any portdebra. Then she continues to be off the music before she does her back bend which is too low. Watch Makarova to see how it is done!
