I having the same problem as you. I even formatted and it's started again. There is a tiny battery in the Hard Drive that I was told to also replace. But did you have to get a new hard drive or you found a solution?
I've had same problems had to re initialise hard drive multiple times,re boot,shut down,even re formatted hard drive problem persisted beeping abnormal error message hard drive 0 GB memory in the end I got fed up messing around it and beeping middle of the night!.
I got a new updated model NVR unit as the security company said it's the hard drive failing after 5 years old but just changing that might not be total solution from their experience as could be problem also with the motherboard power supply or other issues motherboard,new unit problem solved!

How do u clear thr bad sectors do u keep repeat detecting after it says stopped due cause of to many bad sectors? Thanks
Tengo un DVR night Owl, y cada que se va la luz y luego regresa deja de grabar, tengo que formatear el disco para que vuelva a grabar y algunas veces funciona o otras no hasta después de varias formateadas, y reinicio, que puede ser??? Su cargador es de 12v 1.5 A, con ese viene de fábrica, ya le cale con otro de 12v 2.5 A y para lo mismo, lo enciendo y al inicio aparece grabando y al minuto se quita el grabando y deja de grabar, y tengo qué hacer lo mismo que comente arriba, pero todo sucede cuando se va la luz

@@bigbrosecure the state of the disk when I format it says "read and write - scheduled" and it is supposedly recording, then it stops recording and the state of the disk says "exception"

STATUS DOES NOT SHOW ABNORMAL IT SHOWS RAW. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2 SO THIS VIDEO DOES NOT SHOW HOW TO FIX A DRIVE THAT IS IN AN ABNORMAL STATUS
