Ok, I have to say this because I am getting tired of the drug in the drink troupe. If I say I don't drink, and someone tells me I am being disrespectful by turning down a drink, I simply tell them that it is disrespectful to insist that someone who does not drink that it is disrespectful to turn it down.
Yeah like I don't really get that concept I'm disrespecting you by not drinking? even if I have a stomach problem I still have to drink just to imprison you? what if it's poisoned do I have to drink it also so I don't disrespect you?
The drinking culture is vastly different in Asia compared to the west. It is actually extremely disrespectful and even seen as shameful to refuse a drink, especially if it’s someone older than yourself, a social gathering and/or you’re with your work colleagues. Dependant on the situation, occasion and individual(s) Refusing a drink could get you fired, blacklisted or even make you into some black sheep. The only time you can refuse a drink, is if you’re older than said individual offering the drink or you hold a higher position than said individual. Even their drinking culture is hierarchical.

@@meggiejen from my knowledge there are 2 ways you can get out of it 1. If you’re able to, you can bring your own water/juice and let everyone know you’ll drink your own stuff. 2. If you’re unable to bring your own drink or people still insist on you drinking. Say you have a yeast intolerance and can’t drink alcohol. Hopefully this is helpful (And anyone who has any other tips or tricks, please share)
The ml and his secretary talking to each other so far from that woman and she can tell what they talking about but when the fl talk to herself in the room (silent one at that)with the ml so close by and he can't hear her at all 😅😅
