Thanks for the reactions and breakdown! The Soyeon punch method is not for aggressiveness or something related to that. It is physical guide/aid for singing in rhythm for someone having trouble doing so.
@aideul866 thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed! She has mentioned that it's also designed for aggressiveness as a way to put a heavier emphasis on specific words and, in this clip she compared it to singing like a man :)
@HorizonReverie Thank you 😀 I saw that...thats amazing! A good chart performing song is just what they need to get their name out even more. Between the talent of the girls and the genius of Soyeon...this is a great song!
Long story short, this is just my theory tho, about the mv: Siyeon (short haired, checkered duster) got bullied and got offed by Chodan and Magenta previously. Hina (Long haired, green duster), as her replacement, also works with the 2 other girls and slowly discovered evidences of what they did to Siyeon (Diary and photos of her dead body, you can literally see her lying on the floor on the first few frames at the start of the MV along with the intro instrumental). And at the end, Hina avenged her. Notice the running scenes, first it was Siyeon running, probably because the 2 other girls (Chodan and Magenta) were chasing her previously. Then next scene is reversed, it's the 2 other girls running now and it's probably Hina that was chasing them now. Next scene looks like Hina dragging something, and might be the 2 other girls' dead bodies (hinted with the black and white/vintage scene of the 2 girls). She smiled at the end knowing she avenged SIyeon, but the scene still looks so sad.
@jiedragonhub I like it! I can definitely see that being the correct interpretation too. Soyeon often gives us a song that differs from the video in terms of what you would interpret if you saw them separately. In this case, the song certainly isn't one of revenge but the video very well could be for sure. Thanks for sharing!
In order to understand this music video, you need to know the debut process of these girls. Kim Egg, as a producer, announces that he is producing a project group with the goal of creating a growing girl band starting from zero. Chodan has stage fright, Siyeon was a vocalist of Japan's idol style, and Magenta and Hina were new to guitar and bass. The song that deals with the growth process of these girls is their debut song, Discord. However, they were not recognized. Because they lacked playing skills. And they released their first mini album, T.B.H, on April 1st. I think the message contained in this music video is about the conflict of fans toward the band. As they became more popular, they were invited to a rock festival in Korea. However, the public once again sent them prejudice and malicious comments. They said that although their playing skills improved, they were idols, not a band. On September 2nd, they released the pre-released single of their second mini album, "Fake Idol." It contains the message that even if people hate them for being fake, they will still love them. On September 23, they released their second mini album's title track, "My Name is Malguem(Sunny)." I think the message in this video is the hope that they will overcome the prejudice and malicious comments that torment them. I think their songs are about overcoming life. In their debut album, they overcome the dissonance of a band that is harmonizing for the first time, in their first mini album, they overcome the conflict of fans, and in their second mini album, they overcome the dark prejudice of the world. I think Chodan and Magenta represent malicious commenters and prejudice, and Hina and Siyeon represent joy and sadness. Of course, this is just my opinion.
These girls have never appeared on a Korean music show. Instead, they have performed live about 70 times from May to September, including at university festivals, music festivals, and military base visits. Their fans always follow them to the concerts and broadcast their live performances. If you are lucky, you can watch their live performances. If you are not lucky, it is okay. You can watch them on their fan channel anytime. lol
I don't think the debut process is relevant to this MV nor is the producer. They don't make any references at all to any of that. I think, at most, the video might connect with the story from TBH but that might be a stretch. That's definitely an interesting interpretation of this particular song. Considering everything points to bottling up feelings and putting on a smile through it, I can't say I agree. But that's the beauty of interpretations with these things... everyone may feel or think something somewhat differently than everyone else. I think it's pretty cool that a song/vid can say one thing to someone and something entirely different to someone else. Thank you for sharing your view :) As for what you said about each member representing something different, I hadn't thought of this. I may have to go back and listen/watch some vids viewing them through this lens to see if it changes my own interpretations at all!
@@alucidarugument I knew they hadn't been on KTV but I didnt know they had done so many small shows. That's a lot of impressive work. I enjoyed their Manito album... will have to check this one out as well. Who knows, maybe I'll catch them at a small show when I'm overseas next month? lol
