Going to Fushimi Inari Taisha is a good decision any day of the week, but those who want to combine it with a more festive environment should drop by for the Motomiya Festival!
This two day event is a lively summer celebration that consists of the Yomiya-sai (Sat.) and Motomiya-sai (Sun.). Available to view all day but ramping up from 5pm, thousands of lanterns scattered all over Mt. Inari are lit along the shrine paths, and beautifully painted paper lanterns can be enjoyed around the main shrine area at the base of the mountain.
Visitors to the 2017 Motomiya-sai were able to forget the heat when treated to live performances by the neo-Japanesque band Rin Hitoe (rin-japanesque....) and taiko drum groups, complete with the chance to end the night by participating in a seasonal bon odori dance!

This would be the festival I would love to visit! So alive with spirit!
What a beautiful festival, and one of my favorite sites to visit.
Fushimi Inari Taisha was one of my favourite shrines when I visited Kyoto last year. I can't wait to get back and explore it again when I move to Kyoto next year. There is so much to see and do in the area,
There's certainly a lot to see, particularly the many inner shrines up the mountain!
Thank you for such a wonderful video! I love the atmosphere. And I'm happy that you've managed to express and show it like this. It's really amazing.❤🌸
Thanks Julia, it really is one of our favorite festivals here in Kyoto. The lanterns and gates have such rich colors!
Discover Kyoto Sounds great! I hope to visit it one day too :)
omg im crying its just to beautiful !!! I love all of it
I love how Japanese people keep their culture
Yep, while the Europeans are willing to deny it.
In the game Ghost of Tsushima, they show respect to Inari and the Foxes are so beautiful.
👏, Exotic place and charming people.
I heard the guitars and thought the taiko guys were about to start rocking out
It looks amazing ! Can we find the name of the bands somewhere ?
Thanks Angie! The band is called Rin Hitoe, and a link to their website is in the description. :)

Really nice !
Thank you!
this is so calming 💕 this place holds a special place in my heart ✨
I remember climbing the steps of Fushimi Inari and feeling _powerful_ intangible forces surrounding me like they were expecting my coming. Every torii gate I passed under felt like a fear I conquered or a goal I achieved in life. It was the most ecstatic religious experience of my life.
I can’t find the song the plays in this video on Spotify
It's so aesthetic ヾ(๑’౪`๑)ノ゙I love it
Where can i find the song that plays throughout the video I love it.....
