Great post OB! Chris and I hosted Gato Y Maca last night for Pizza, beers and some trouble shooting (It's a Rover you know). Chris provided a hot shower and warm breakfast before they hit the road again ;-) Really wonderful people LIVING the OB passion. Broke but Rich are great ambassadors!!
you are a great interviewer....really great job, the interviewee is really cool too.....I appreciate his candor ...what an awesome trip! Thanks for posting this!
Very interesting video. This winter i am planning to repair mine 110 after 18 years of driving on 19J 2.5 litre turbo diesel. My desire has always been to make it look like the one you own now. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for doing tis video for us. I really liked the vehicle even if it is "tractorlike." Seemed like a great guy and I also appreciated his attitude about how anyone can be an overlander if they work at it. Kind of sounds like your philosophy.
That is a Three door Tithonus British Military 110 Landy. With two jerry can storage lockers that will take two 20L jerry cans each side. Stronger than most other trucks and very off road capable.
Damn, this guy really has it goin' on! That's a kick-ass, no frills, durable Defender. Love it! I've driven them while in the military visiting England, Gibraltar, and Australia. I wish they were more plentiful around here, I would buy one tomorrow! The manufacturers today really soak us for plastic and bling!!! Totally awesome!!!!
Thank you all for the kind comments and support. Thank you Michael and Cory from OB for doing what you do with the overland community. Keep up the great work and continue to unite people alike to follow their dreams :) cheers
It's very nice to see different people from other races overlanding testing their ability to adapt to life outside the norm the stories told are priceless not to be like everyone I'm currently working on my 05 jeep wrangler Rubicon unlimited to start my overlanding in 2018 good luck in your journey
Interesting on the power. max weight is something like 6500 lbs on a 110. 70hp huh? Wonder what my13 LR4 would be like with a motor like that. It was 6200 lbs empty (but with rack/sliders/etc) the last time I had it on a scale at the dump. I'll probably stick with the 375 hp 5L V8. Iconic and looks great, but must really feel like a tractor.
I had a lr3 with rear lockers that I gave up for this car. Just because I wanted to take it to remote places without worrying about AAA and having to take t to Land Rover dealer for any sensor. I can fix this with duct tape and a leatherman :)
Great Landrover it's better than ours; we are currently prepping it to drive Australia to Iceland but now I know I have a few more things to add. Zahra & Paul @twoheadnorth
Brokebutrichoverland Travel adventures that is very inspiring. I am looking to buy a defender next year and start overlanding in it. Have a great trip. And greetings from the UK
(pucha te falto la bandera chilena ademas de la roja!) Such landies are such an iconic piece of motor vehicle history, even if they have lots of drawbacks... but who cares, they are lovely (not like new land rovers) I grew up in southern Chile jumpin' in and out of landies every day, and they became kind of my second home... too bad that the brits persisted in making one error after the other (forerunner of Brexit?) and ruined this legend (they lost lots of markets against Toyota) if they do not release a very good and really off-road landie with the 2020 Defender version (we DO NOT need another SUV) it's OVER! I'll go for Toyota (troopy) or Jeep (wrangler rubicon)...!!!
Type A interviewing type B .. yup yup got it! yup yup 'kay yup 😄 Cool! A horse on steroids.. hard to find and insanely expensive in well used condition. Makes a new albeit (inferior) wrangler seem cheap by comparison.
hes dead right, theres nothing suv about these vehicles, they date back to WW2, they are strictly ORVs not SUVs, they are designed for farmers, park rangers, mountain rescue teams, aid workers in africa etc .. if you want cup-holders, air-con & a 24 speaker surround sound stereo system then you gotta buy a land rover discovery or range rover as defender is strictly a ORV not a SUV
Awesome 110. Makes my NAS defender look like a luxury car.
So modest! Both him and Tico.
I love this man "can you do this in your suv" and "this is not one bit suv"
This is one of the best walk arounds you have done. This machine is so simple yet so tough. Welcome to kenya sometime
Thank you!

Absolutely feels like a tractor! Really low gearing, low torque, but no where near the power of yours.
I had a lr3 with rear lockers that I gave up for this car. Just because I wanted to take it to remote places without worrying about AAA and having to take t to Land Rover dealer for any sensor. I can fix this with duct tape and a leatherman :)
come to Austrlia i'll show you my little hilix
Great Landrover it's better than ours; we are currently prepping it to drive Australia to Iceland but now I know I have a few more things to add. Zahra & Paul @twoheadnorth
How do these people afford these vehicles (defender), and all of these accessories? So much money!!!
Roberto Licardie saving for couple years living small and simple and dedication :) my fav saying is “when there’s a will, there’s a way”
Brokebutrichoverland Travel adventures that is very inspiring. I am looking to buy a defender next year and start overlanding in it. Have a great trip. And greetings from the UK
Working hard, saving, making sacrifices elsewhere.
Funnily enough this vehicle has been used up until now by the Australian Army
Defenders are farm machinery, they were designed for Farmers and the military.
I guess 70HP motor dont like ARB bumper ))

70 mph? Not a chance - my experience with this car and engine combo is 55mph max and thats without all the addedd weight.
I don't think that's a choke, it's a hand throttle.
Type A interviewing type B .. yup yup got it! yup yup 'kay yup 😄
