100% agree, as a Drill Instructor, I tried it all with all sorts of foot problems that all went away completely with wool socks. I bought 7 pairs of "darn tough" socks (lifetime replacement garantee no questions asked) like 3 years ago and I still wear the same 7 pair today. Once you try wool socks, you won't ever want to go back!
Amen
I have 10 pairs of the Darn Tough crew socks and 6 pair of the tall hiking boot socks. Expensive yes but a great investment.
@noexcuses6727 you spend most of your time as a man in your bed and on your feet. Spare no expense on the two
Bass Pro did carry a merino blend for a lot less with a guarantee. Used for hunting for years.
Blackie, Thanks for sharing. I still got several pairs of G.I. Wool Blend OD Green socks , I take to the woods and field, hunting, trapping , hiking, camping. I'm going to look up Camel City Mill to see if they got over the calf socks. Thank You Sir again for sharing.
I was at my local farmers market last weekend and someone complimented me on my Backie Thomas t shirt and asked where she could get one
That's awesome!!
Made in North Carolina , Winston Salem. I wear the construction version with steel toe boots on construction sites. I caught a sale 4 pairs for $40 (early 2023). I also like the alpaca socks> If you wear the thin silk socks as a 1st layer then the wool/wool blend as a second layer your boots will never stink. Your feet will stay warm and dry, plus blisters won't rub up on the balls of your feet nor heels. You need to have slightly larger shoes to wear these for 12 hrs. due to your feet swelling from all the standing especially on concrete.
Another good place is darntough. Prices are not like you are buying some boutique item. They say they are guaranteed for life. Buy 7 pairs, one for each day of the week and you are good for life. Don't know how that works but at least they are confident.
I have a few pairs of Darn Tough socks. I love them. They aren't cheap, but they are comfortable and, so far, durable.
Thats what I did. Got a pair every couple months, ended up with 8 pair after awhile.
Wool, Wool, Wool, Wool.!!
I've worn ONE PAIR of merinos for sometimes two weeks, 24/7, without changing out and have NEVER had any type of problem.
I like wool socks also, and I like USA-made socks. I like my Camel City crews.
Amazing to hear you talking about socks as I just threw out a pair of wool hiking socks I’ve had and used for 14 years (off and on). They had extra padding in the heel, balls of the foot and on the sides. I wish I could find 1980s style Australian army socks because they were full wool and had thick cushioning all around the foot of the sock.
I have some Darn Tough brand socks I’ve owned for almost twenty years. I wear them as every day wear summer and winter (wool will work well even when it’s hot) and I’ve hiked and mountain biked in them. Never had one fail or cause problems no matter the miles.
I will need the Sasquatch edition.
Still doing gi boot socks I love em these look good iv used wool dress socks they work good in warm weather
Synthetic socks suck. Wool has been used for centuries for all the reasons Blackie stated. Bamboo socks are up there with wool in my experience in our Australian climate. Are they available in the USA ?
Thanks, Blackie. I've never heard of this company before. I have a few pairs of Smartwool brand hiking socks, also the trekking socks are really nice, thick and cushiony for your feet especially when wearing boots. 👍🏻🧦
Excellent! I’ve been looking for merino wool socks, and I’m gonna try a couple pair of these.
I too have worn darn tuff for years. Got rid of all my cotton kills socks. 👍
Thank you Blackie. True hiking socks are worth the investment.
Great video Blackie!
Army socks too.
Hi Blackie, thank you for the information, and your time to make these videos.
Sounds like great socks !
I just ordered 2 pairs. I believe in investing in comfortable feet.
Those look great but on their website, they are $25.99 for one pair now.
Try out a pair of ALPACA wool socks.
You will probably become a believer.
(there's a mill in NW Kentucky)
i will look into it
You don’t do enough video on actually doing Bushcraft. I’d view more of that!
Sounds great Blackie, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Good to know, thank you.
$25 to $28 a pair is kinda steep for a pair of socks. I don't doubt they're high quality and will last, but the price??
I use darn tuff and wigwams.
Good video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Do you change your socks during the day because of feet sweat?
Great video! What's the percentage of wool in those camel socks?
Marino wool 👍🏻👍🏻
Man, at over $50 for 2 pair I'll stick with my cheapo socks. I'm sure these are worth it, but no way I can afford such luxuries on disability 😂
i understand what sold me was the guarantee 10 yrs if they get a hole in them they will replace them
Diabled myself ...dollar cost average saving and "buy once cry once"
So Blackie, I really like your channel. I have been subscribed for a while now. one question I have to ask, is why are you useing an image of some old man that only vaguely resembles you in your video title clips? you are NOT an ugly man. it should be your face out there. And, I have to agree with you on merino wool. my brother turned me onto them several years ago. GOOD stuff.
AWESOME
