William Durant (eminent American historian and the author of 11 volumes of story of civilization) summarizes clearly from where everything came- "India was the motherland of our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages: she was the mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity; mother, through the village community, of self-government and democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all".
This is just tremendous- the range and depth of these discussions between two masters. Greatly beholden. The history , meaning and scope of Mathematics explained by Dr.Raju are so delightful and hard to get in one place. He is performing the function of a University- true Multiversity. It is so elevating.
Superb, thought provoking, eye opening! And as a small aside, the audio quality is really great... Real stereo! You feel that the Prof. is sitting right in front of you! :)
Thank you for the interview, I enjoyed it a lot. I am so glad that somebody is on the project of digging into historical evidence and telling history as it is. I just hope that more people will join in the process so that our children will learn a history that more correctly reflects the evidence we have. Much of the primary source that Western historians rely on for ancient Greece dates back to around the Renaissance and after, which is more than 1000 years after the supposed fact. Any scrupulous historian would consider such sources to be highly questionable and unreliable. Using the same standard that the Western scholars have been applying to the Four Great Ancient Civilizations on Greece, the more logical conclusion would be: much of what is known about the so-called ancient Greece relied on evidence that was created or fabricated much later during a time of white identity crisis.
+Dazhizhe If Greece people were so good from ancient times, they would not have such an economic situation which they have in Europe. At-least they are not colonized by British.
A great discussion by two learned men............ very educative for us who thought mathematics is an exaggeration of arithmatics but like all human endeavours an extrapolation resulting out of Logics (logical arguements). But as Russell said it, 'all conclusions are mere assertions'.......... so, and as it may be proved by the arguments put forth here.
Theon and Hypatia were from Africa so they would not belong to Greek intellectual tradition ! Greece has nothing as compared to Egypt, India or China or even the Central Americans or Maya !
