When did they change the name to Lake Smith? When I lived there it was called Lake Shores. Lake Smith was the lake there. I heard from the residents that Lake Shores used to be a pig farm. The military dammed it up, now a spillway by Shore Drive. The salinity levels slowly dropped & the water became fresh. In 1976 you could catch sea bass there in fresh water. It's also became the drinking water for Va.Bch. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. 😁
We were referencing all of the neighborhoods around Lake Smith - there are a lot of little streets that aren't even considered neighborhoods, as well as some new communities that have been developed around the lake. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I was stationed there in the 80's and Ocean View area was terrible. Probably hasn't changed a bit.
The area has changed a LOT! There's luxury beach homes, redevelopment for the shopping centers, parks and more.
