I've just had to do something similar however I did it all through Prusa slicer, pretty powerful! A bit more user friendly for me as I'm not that experienced with openScad. Thanks for the video!
Yeah you can do most of this in the slicer, covering stuff up is easy enough by adding shapes. OpenScad takes a bit to learn and its not for everyone. But I think most folks can do it at this level just a few things to clean up or add another stl file.
