1 token. 1 account per person. External money (ad revenue) to provide value for the token otherwise it's just making money out of thin air which inevitably goes to zero if it's given out as rewards.
Cheers for the video and thorough explanation of your thoughts here, 12. The key differentiator in how we are perceiving this thing is that I see the power for vouchers, as proof of time staked, and by extension the voucher shop, to cater to & reward primarily the veterans and most committed of the ecosystem. This is the biggest piece for me. Vouchers and a voucher shop, if done correctly, should allow for (& encourage) only those that have a dedicated commitment to supporting the game (either via staking SPS or running the validator software) to have first dibs on any/everything cool (cosmetics & aesthetics are the biggest opportunities in my opinion) whereas allowing for all of these same sorts of items to be purchasable via DEC opens that up to everyone and therefore removes any sense of exclusivity. Vouchers should always have been this - the white list pass to all the cool & exclusive stuff in the game. Either way, it's looking like a change to vouchers is coming and, should we fail to see the kind of exclusive value I think we can and should see via a voucher shop, we can always opt to swing the pendulum further towards total eradication of the token. Thanks again dude
Nah, not build and manage a voucher shop… y’all just really don’t want to listen, when they say, we can’t keep adding more side projects. This ish is crazy Lmaoooo.
@@FBIAlex its simple, matt said already. They gonna do bare minimum as per proposal and not gonna guarantee items will satisfy. So ,not gonna take away from main focus,as should be
This video actually changed my mind and I switched my votes (~750k SPS) to the sunset option. As a multiple node holder, I would of course like to keep receiving "something" instead of "nothing", but after listening to you talk it out, you're mostly likely right that the benefit of not having VOUCHERs detract from anything else will likely make up for it in other ways. I view the extra dev hours gained from sunsetting VOUCHERs as a big benefit, not having to build a VOUCHER shop and continually stock it means those dev hours are going towards other things that are more important to the overall ecosystem. The big win either way is that VOUCHERs will stop being used as a discount token which directly takes away from DEC utility.
How many nodes do you personally own and how much money have you spent buying those nodes? Therein may your bias be found. The team needs to keep their promises and maintain trust with their stakeholders. If not, future sales will reflect that loss of trust.
100%. Everyone of these moves discouraging purchasing of assets. We should also nerf all land for the same arguments presented to remove vouchers. Because Matt says it, it must be right. We should just remove land. People who bought or hold it get nothing!
What would be a bias clearing for dwayne then,if he doesnt own vouchers? If they wanted to make sps and all cards soulboubd or something lol? And only left value to validator nodes holders and vouchers?
More average daily DEC inflation (in $ value) comes from Leaderboard rewards than from Vouchers from Nodes. Where is the uproar on changing Leaderboard rewards? While we are at it, why not reduce all SPS emissions by 50%? Scarcity without demand does NOT create value.
I like vouchers and totally disagree with your argument. Voucher were created to gratify people who had either staked sps or who had bought into nodes. Meaning those were individuals who truly had a stake in the ecosystem. The flaw in the system was created by the team who again didn’t understand the economics behind an endless supply of tokens with no permanent use case which gave people supporting the project via staked sps and nodes advantages in game. The poor design of the token falls back on the team, again. If they would have hired a capable chief of marketing, and not some kid like chatter, they might have seen that and would have managed the problem right away. The solution? Give us permanent, cool voucher sinks, reasonably priced and make vouchers fun and desirable. Stop bashing.
When they are removed anyone who bought vouchers and nodes definitely have a loss of value. No one cares about the economics. It is a redistribution of wealth from some to others. Since it is splinterlands, the transfer is probably from chumps to whales.
Matt gave that answer after the questions were closed, and it kind of makes me upset, because his flawed answer wasn't able to be followed up on. His reasoning actually shows a lack of understanding of economics. YES, by removing vouchers, the community's SPS should absorb that value (assuming that vouchers didnt add value) BUT Node Owners, who bought Nodes on the assumption that they were getting X vouchers in addition to the SPS, are eating a loss here, slightly offset by EVERYONE's SPS increasing in value. Those of us who don't own Nodes don't pay that cost, so we are getting value at the expense of Node owners.... extra sad because Node owners have, in general, suffered one of the biggest losses in splinterlands... on the word of the team that these were going to be valued and prioritized. The SPS sunset option harms the people who trusted the team the most, who invested in that belief, and it does it disproportionately. and I think that it is harder to see that if you dont own a node yourself, and see the rewards you were promised when you invested being taken away, and being told its ok becuase everyone gets a benefit from it. that said, maybe Vouchers need to go so badly that we should just go ahead and screw over Node owners. but be honest about it, dont pretend like this isn't harming them for everyone's benefit. Personally, i'd prefer a sunset option that SPECIFICALLY compensates Node Owners for their loss.
weird its like SPL is saying screw ppl who already are in the game..we want to focus on NPE,,screw wild players..battlepass ..screw valids ..we got ur money ll re3ady less tokens isnt less by the same logic..
The winning proposal now is a disgrace as it's giving MORE utility to vouchers sinking more DEC and SPS. Hope team will release item for vouchers slowly and in poor quality / useless so vouchers will be useless and do not take from DEC and SPS. But I dont like this kind of ridicule situations where you make fool of people, we did the wrong thing overall
