11 years of paving and a lot of this just happens on the fly , paver width . Setting end gates and tow points revolve around thickness of mix but it is a good video to show what a paver is

@@NoG-Inc. be open to learn anything, learn to rake, and tail end the paver, I started out as the shovel guy and worked my way up, took me 16 years to become a foreman, Al’s if you are going to be on a paving crew,or any construction crew, you have to have this skin and a good sense of humour. @@gogojuice2621 umm it was fun, easy, pretty straightforward and really fast paced. I unfortunately got stuck with a bad crew but there's bad apples in every batch ;)

I have been paving for about 23 years and that’s the worst mess I have seen a paver in the side gates and when extension was opened the asphalt covered all over it shocking

There's a lot of tweeking going on on that conveyer machine before you start operating it, you must know how to set all the required settings for it to start application.
I want to know work ethic in American construction, smoking is allowed on field? or is there any place to smoke on field?
Generally yes, unless you’re in a designated non smoking area. Like airports probably.
Forget about the pre-paving inspection wanna do the end of the day inspection with a scraper and clean that favor off
And maybe you wouldn’t be dragging it down the mat halfway through the day nice Extensions dragon cold mix all day real nice
The more island you put the more difficult it gets to drain😂
1. Before you null the screed. You need to pull the tractor forward to take the slake out of the screed arms. if not you screed will not be set properly.
2. Alternate the conveyor and augurs to fill properly and will help with your head of material.
What’s it mean to center tow point
Put on both tow points on zero (depending on depth).
You didn't remove slack from screed?
He left out the secrets like auger height and head of material speed calibration. Video is only 8 mins, don't be that dude guy.

I would be embarrassed if this was my paver being filmed. It’s filthy. We scrape down and spray the paver down at the end of every job. You should not see any old asphalt on the paver in the beginning of a new job.

I retract my statement my man. Went back to see and holy hell. You ain't a joking. We knock everything like that off ours and have small scrapers sitting for the hand tools and or cleaning in between trucks. Just didn't pay attention in the beginning of the video I guess. That thing is a nightmare for sure.

Don't be embarrassed when we all see you're on sidewalks. You ain't getting no state work if that paver is shining, or else imma call the EPA. Zeroes it out as far as I know. You can see how the handle goes from tight to loose. Each paver is a little different and how it nulls out and is supposed to be set right. But the concept is the same
And how in the over view did they pave that little outlet and then skip then start in the other one .just poor paving
try cleaning your paver, I would be sacked if I left a paver that dirty, sideplates chunked etc

That worker should have never been standing anywhere near that hopper when that truck was backing up if that trucker wasn't skilled enough to back up on his own the operator of the paver should have backed him up from his seat in the paver no one should ever b near that hopper when trucks r backing up to it even if he is standing on the side I seen so many danger points with him doing that.
