    2:58 Use WITH Retinol:
    -Hyaluronic acid
    -Ceramides
    -Occlusives (in your moisturizer)
    -Anti-inflammatories
    -Sunscreen SPF 50
    **WEAR RETINOL AT NIGHT
    **
    4:24 AVOID when using Retinol
**anything with low pH or that irritates the skin**
4:30 ascorbic acid (use tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate or sodium ascorbyl phosphate instead)
5:37 avoid retinOL on/around the eye (use retinyl palmitate, encapsulated retinol, or retinaldehyde instead)
6:12 benzoyl peroxide (cancels each other out- if using same day, apply 2-3 hours before retinol)
7:00 AHA/BHAs (too irritating to use same day. Use 2x/week and retinol for days not applying AHA/BHA)
7:45 more than one application of Vitamin A (example: if retinol is in your serum AND moisturizer)
8:53 Put vitamin A on first (most effective)

I am perimenopausal which could be the cause of all my issues, loss if estrogen, because I've never had the problem before. my question is I ran across a product called corsx cica toner and cica serums are these good for dehydrated skin and can I use with the retinol. My physician recently prescribed tretinoin and I am at the lowest percentage at the moment . I am seeing some positive changes but not being able to hold on hydration is driving me crazy

I love the retinol product and YES it is a HERO product! Usually I gonna combine it with Hada Labo toner, TO niacinamide + zinc and then I apply TO granactive retionoid 2%, lastly Mamonde repair cream. I do have some break out at first when using retinol at my face, but its gone after a month of using it. I'm 29ys & I think its not too late to start this anti aging regime. If I feels that my skin a bit too dry, I'm gonna alternate the uses of TO niacinamide & retinol.

Hello Dr V! Please would you recommend using a benzoyl peroxide wash before using a retinol ? Or does the same rule follow as with the benzoyl peroxide gel ?

Could this also be good advice for caucasian skin? I'm 42 and have some hyperpigmentation caused by some adult-onset acne that started a few years ago. I also tend to be dry, especially in winter. I'm trying to sort out a good routine that includes retinol, so any advice to point me in a good direction would be very appreciated. 😊🙏

I love your videos! You can maybe tell from my photo I don’t have skin of colour however I do feel like my skin scars and remains dark long after any breakouts etc. Would you recommend I take a lot of your advice even though I know your channel is aimed at people with skin of colour? If not would you recommend any channels to follow based on my skin type? (Already love hyram & mixed makeup)
    Thanks so much, Claire

Hi Dr V. Could you also argue that it's better not to put retinoid on first to reduce penetration and thus reduce irritation? I use great barrier relief first since it's anti-inflammatory.
