Despite not understanding the lore, the members of ateez encourage everyone to interpret their songs in their own ways because there are so many layers to it. So, in the ATEEZ universe, there's this place called Strictland (the setting of the MV) where the citizens are stripped off their emotions, arts and music are banned and basically their individuality is taken from them. HALA (Hearts Awakened, Live Alive) ATEEZ is a band of rebels with a mission to restore what was taken. This album is called From the Witness so to me, this song is from the point of view of the citizens (the ones unmoving in the hooded cloaks) and their prayer to HALATEEZ in hopes of saving them from the governing android giants and that huge ball. If you react to the Prologue of Ep. 1 Movement and the Guerrilla MV, you'll understand more! Thanks for reacting to them.

Ah, nobody knows what Halazia actually means, Ateez have been very carefully avoiding answering that question so maybe we'll find out later or maybe we'll be guessing forever. They have a big storyline going through their albums and their second album included a song Hala Hala (Hearts Awakened Live Alive) and "hala hala" was basically a chant, and now Halazia relates to that in some way. The dystopian world this MV is set in is called Strictland and it's in a parallel dimension (there are also parallel Ateez who we call Halateez because we met them in Hala Hala).

So Ateez has a big storyline attached to all their MVs. So according to their lore 'Halazia' is a place, it's a place where ppl sort of worshipped 'Halatezz'(ateez's darker alteregos in black fedors), the scarecrow in the beginning is dressed in Halateez attire. Do more Ateez! Their music is amazing and not typical k-pop, they play around with a lot of genres. I suggest react to Guerrilla next.

You'll love them as you get more into them. Their lore is deeeeeeep and this is just the most recent version. Behind this is Guerrilla, which also combines a ton of musical elements. Hala Hala is the song which really gave us a view of HalATEEZ, which other commenters mention. Essentially the group is comprised of 8 time-and-space traveling pirates on a journey to find treasure, where treasure is defined in multiple ways along their journey (it's deep, like I said). At this point (not quite halfway) in their story, they are working to free the inhabitants of Strictland, where emotion and expression are being suppressed for the people, and you'll see in Guerrilla how they're spreading their message to those who are able/willing to hear it and perhaps break free of the oppression. But since it's your first time listening to them, it's worth just enjoying them, and I'm glad that you did. They have an incredible discography with near-flawless production, so any of their MVs are great, and their b-sides are always worth it. Hope you'll have a chance to look at more of their stuff!

YES, YOU ARE CHECKING OUT ATEEZ LET'S GOOOO!! these guys are truly unmatched
i've been into KPOP literally since 2008 .. something about ateez just felt unique? i don't know how to explain it.
anyways in summary since i saw someone already explaining what halazia meant, i just wanted to mention that ATEEZ is a group of 8, they have heavy lore in their music videos and storyline. Their concept is Pirates! But to make it clear, sometimes it's visually represented in some music videos (like you would see a pirate ship and all that) and other music videos like Halazia it's not necessarily visually presented. And that is because yes they are pirates but ateez's concept true meaning is 'pirates' as in are basically rebels. Pirates were often called the outcasts of the sea. One of the first people to ever rebel against the entire world were the pirates, they stood up and mutinied against the system... so basically ateez doesn't represent their piracy in literal ways all the time but more like what it stands for. and let me tell you .. their live performances are INSANE. they have such stage charisma!
One more fact, the 'leader' of the group (his name is Hongjoong) we never call him a leader nor do the members of the group. instead they and we call him 'captain' 🙌🏼
    please check out Guerrilla next!
and if you are interested. Here is a guide i HIGHLY recommend and i know it's an hour long but i (Along with many i'm sure) wouldn't mind at all watching it with you again! it's a guide that encapsulates and captures them perfectly + it's the most recent updated so thats good ua-cam.com/video/ZnK4Sr-DNiM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ofallthekennys

ATEEZ stands for A to Z or A tee(nager) Z since their first goal was to write music that would encapsulate what people experience beginning with teenagers. I would say there are 5 things that set them apart from other groups:
meaning, they focus on writing meaningful music so the proportion of songs that are uplifting, consoling, and comforting is much higher than a lot of other groups (the two rappers write a lot of their lyrics and I would describe them as poets at heart),
authentic, they draw from personal experience with a genuine desire to help others with their music (they even wrote a song about the importance of being humble and kind),
epic, they work with an in house production team to create music that often has an epic or anthemic feel,
vocals, they have a strong group of vocalists with a wide range of timbres, one of which (the darked haired guy belting in the chorus) is widely considered the best male vocalist of kpop's 4th gen, and
performance, they are known as performance kings--everything from their dance to live vocals to expression is top tier. I highly recommend watching a live performance of Halazia or its MBC performance dance practice. I guarantee you'll be impressed. This album is on its second week in Billboard 200's top ten (#2).
Their MVs and live performances slowly add to their overall storyline, but it's more often giving hints to the story than spelling it out, so while we know what the parts of the word Halazia means we're not sure yet either whether it's a place or a group of people, but you are spot on as to the metaphorical part. Their songs generally advance the storyline while still being generic enough to be applied metaphorically to our lives.
    Rapper with fuzzy hat--Captain Hongjoong
    Blonde-oldest, Seonghwa
Sitting in the giant broken hour glass-Yunho
    Deep voiced vocalist-Yeosang
    Vocalist pulling down the ball-San
    Flame haired rapper--Mingi
    Red haired vocalist-Wooyoung
    Main vocalist-Jongho
I suggest Guerrilla (their previous Korean release) next. There are 2 movie-quality trailers for Guerrilla's album, The World EP 1: Movement, which were designed to help people get caught up to this part of their story. Thanks for the reaction!

Guess what in a recent interview they dropped the 'teen' and gave a new meaning behind the name. Essentially:
dimension A: original dimension where they start
      dimension Z: where Strictland is
the 8 boys are traveling from A to Z so they named themselves ATEEZ!
(kinda glad they dropped the teen thing since they are all basically in their mid 20's)

HALA is the rebel group that originally tried to fight for freedom in this alternate universe. They seem to have failed so this is the "New 8" that have risen to take HALA's place. I read somewhere that ZIA means "splendor" in Arabic (?) so.... The light / splendor of Hala (?). ATEEZ is to me on their own level. The best group there is in the 4th generation. Please watch HALA HALA to see what the "original" rebel group were like. At least this is how I understand it.

Halazia is a fictional place. All of Ateez songs are a soundtrack to their fictional storyline. Which is about a crew of pirates that can travel between dimensions and through time using this magic hourglass called a Cromer. Each album is labeled with a chapter and an episode. Ateez travels through time and space exploring new worlds, looking for treasure, having adventures, and fighting against these guys with no faces, sometimes with the help of Halateez, which are the Ateez members but from a different dimension. I recently saw a post where someone was comparing Kpop bands to cliques in high school and I thought it made a lot of sense. For example, she said that Stray Kids are the band kids making crazy beats at the back of the class, while Ateez are the musical theater kids trying to give the best, most dramatic performance.

I always thought Halateez were trying to help Ateez repair their universe so it wouldn't turn out like their own. Crazy how we all get something out of the messages. I'm probably very wrong, but in lots of videos you see Halateez visiting Ateez. They have Hongjoong the cromer (hourglass) which is part of their dimension jumping lore. Halateez always looked dark and menacing, but they are not enemies at all. They are my favorite part of Ateez's lore since the beginning, but the lore is SO deep. As you've probably noticed, there's several theories about 'HALAZIA', so why not get another one 😉
'Hala' is a word adopted and used in the ATEEZ universe. You first come across it with their release 'HALA HALA' from 2019 - a year after they debuted.
'HALA HALA' is like a character song. With it, we are introduced to a group of characters, which fans started calling the 'halateez'. ATEEZ themselves adopted this and refers to these characters like this as well.
Halateez, are a group of black pirates/rebels, from a pararelle universe. Several songs and performances tells a bit of their story, like the album from last year: 'The world EP 1: Movement', with the title track 'Guerrilla'. However, you'll also find Halateez in ATEEZ live performances, like 'Rythm ta' from KINGDOM; Legendary war'.
    Now, 'Hala' has two meanings.
First; when you look up their song 'HALA HALA', you'll come across the phrase "Hearts Awaken, Live Alive", which 'HALA' is acronym for. You'll find this sentence in other MV's as well...
Added to that, 'Hala' is a Arabic name, meaning 'the aura of light, around the moon'. I think this has significance to the lore and name as well.
Now, 'ZIA' is a Latin name and means 'Light'.
So, to break it down; 'aura around the moon' and 'light'.
No, I'm not overanalyzing. There's an incredible amount of details and very little is random, when it comes to the ATEEZ lore 😉
As for the 'HALAZIA' and this MV's part in the lore, in my personal theory, this is most likely another group of people, new characters. Major reason for me to think this, is some points in this MV, but also the fact that this is set as a spin off, hence, its not a Canon part of the main story.
Spin offs, are usually unrelated stories about important characters in a story, like a villains background story. And it can happen at any point of the mainstorys timeline.
So, i dont think its ATEEZ, nor is it Halateez, but Halazia is another group, from yet another pararelle world... it's... well, you probably need to get a bit more into the lore and get to "know" the characters a bit more, for it to make sense 😉😅
Anyway, that was my take on it. I hope, it somehow made sense 😅😅

Thank you for this ATEEZ reaction! For me, ATEEZ is THE ABSOLUTE GREATEST in KPop, especially 4th generation, and they are far ahead of their time and always EPIC in their music, performance and storytelling.
Their storyline/lore is super exciting & intriguing, but a bit complicated, as it involves pirates/rebels/guerrillas, time travel and alternate universes, including a dystopian society, where ATEEZ must now take over for HALATEEZ (the alternate version of themselves in this dystopian world called Strickland). HALATEEZ are rebels/anarchists who wear the all black outfits and fedora hats and the facemasks. They are all in a fight for freedom of art, emotion & expression (that has been taken away by government leaders) in this dystopian world. Also, since their debut, the storyline, including whatever is happening in each of their MV's, weaves in & out of different time periods, (past, present, future), along with the different universes. And so the lore is about ATEEZ'S full journey in all of this.
Their storyline goes all the way back to their debut and pretty much every single music video and every song that they have connects - in some way or another - to the lore. There are quite a few UA-cam videos that explain the storyline or at least have theories about the lore.
But for now, this will help explain HALAZIA a bit more.
    Watch their prologue/trailer for HALAZIA:
    ua-cam.com/video/hiNMuSOFDZY/v-deo.html
Also, remember that in the ATEEZ lore, "HALA" means "Hearts Awakened, Live Alive" and "Zia" means "Light" - which is why they chant "Be The Light, HALAZIA!" 🔥❤️

I can just imagine you going on google/UA-cam trends and seeing their name and deciding I guess I'll react to this. 😀 Little did you know that you stepped into the opening of a very deep rabbit hole. Personally, I'd turn back if I were you. Some people believe that Ateez finds you when you need them. If you want to react to more ateez you're going to have to dive deep. You can't just randomly pick an Ateez song. So learn how to pronounce the name of the group. and let people who know Ateez really well guide you. Reach out to sojeone who has written a comment on this and ask them for help. Most will be more than willing to lay out a proper list of songs for you to react to. And help you find your bearings. And if all you are interested in is just getting your view count up, I'd go find an easier group.
Welcome to the world of Ateez. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Ateez is an eight-member group that debuted in October 2018. Their fans are called ATINY. ATEEZ stands for everything for teenagers from A to Z. ATINY is a combo of ATEEZ and Destiny. They say their fans are their Destiny. From their Debut songs, "Pirate King" and "Treasure," they have had a very detailed, very cool storyline that runs through every video, Live performance, and even their concerts.
This post will be long enough, so I'm going to help, I hope by giving you some details, but this wouldn't end if I told you everything.
Let's start with the title. HALAZIA, in their world, goes by the name of Strictland. HALA stands for "Hearts Awaken, Live Alive." However, Hala means Black Mass in Hindu. Or the Black moon you see them bring down in the video. ZIA means "light" in both Arabic and Latin. So you could interpret HALAZIA as "bring light to the black mass." And these moons have even been seen floating above their audience in their concerts. Now the black mass or Moons are controlled by what ATINY calls the "white giants" or government. Both the white giants and ATEEZ or in this case their Ater-egos "HALATEEZ" are after what they call a "Cromer" or an hourglass that can control time, space, and gravity. The leader of ATEEZ, Hongjoong gets his hands on it in one of their stage performances, but somehow, which hasn't been explained yet, it breaks. This is why in the video you see one member, Yunho is sitting inside the broken cromer, and the sand he is holding is going up, not down. One member, a rapper by the name of Mingi talks about being stuck between now and future generations. And they can bring down an extremely heavy moon by only using chains and human power. So we know that breaking the cromer,it does affect space, time, and gravity.
This video is a Spin-off of their main storyline, and the name of their current album is called Spin-off:From the Witness. This is important due to the end. Now you saw how they brought the moon down and it hit one member, his name is San. This was San sacrificing himself to protect and save the others, he also does it in the main storyline. They need this to happen so it can show that there are ppl out there willing to sacrifice themselves to protect others. The four ppl u see at the end, those are the Witnesses they need to go back to the others and tell them that they don't need the government to control them, they can break the chains that you see around another member. And at the end u hear a bird song, there was also a Bluebird flying over the four at the top, and a member speaks about hearing a Bluebird. The last song on their current album is called "Outro:Bluebird."
One more item, another reaction channel that I'd a Korean American couple do break down the lryics even more to help us understand more. Now both Andy and Jas say that both rappers end their pharsing like a prayer in Korean. That stuck with me. So you add the fact that they chant at the end, "NO MORE, KEEP CONTROL, NO MORE, KEEP YOUR SOUL." Very much like a prayer.
Like I mentioned I just wanted to give you some of the details for this part of they storyline, but if you would like to know more, there are a couple of videos and several pages going into great length and detail about this storyline, thanks to ATINY. And the leader, Hongjoong has said, even though it's been over 4 years, we haven't even seen a 1/3 of the story yet.
Again I'm sorry for such a long post, but I hope it gave you a little more of an understanding of what is going on. It is just one reason why so many ATINY are so attached to the group.
Good luck, and please check out more ATEEZ. ATINY will be there to watch.

Huhhhh kpop 🤯 there r more than 150 groups bands but I know BTS on top but never seen sudden on TikTok straykids(skz) band attracted me and I became mad fan of them and found kpop a big music world with lots of companies and bands with different storylines, I got them so attractive by funny shows then I found ateez 🔥 group with skz as friends so I search them and involved more badly 😭🤒.
