Don't cut it down! Yes your kiwi is self pollinating but having the male one will improve pollination a lot. You also want to start looking at reenforcing where its growing these things grow big and heavy and can take down structures. Hope you get to eat some this year.
I just picked up 2 “prolific” variety plants from Lowe’s. Felt like I was doing a rescue when in reality it’s just part of my plant addiction. 😂 I’ve started learning about them and there you are, a video about these. Box says these ones are self pollinating.

So how does the Issai Kiwi taste? I'm curious how much fruit set in 2018 from all those flowers. Mines died this winter in it's 1st season. Not sure why. But wondering if it's worth it for me to buy a large 3 gallon one, if this actually tastes good.

U actually plant it quite in a shade, does it do well? Coz where i plant mine is the same but it doesn't seem to grow fast

Where did you buy the male vine?
where do you live it might be to cold and you know you need a trellis but I think you are a smart women growing your own food

My issai kiwi disappeared. pot and all. now i have to go buy another one. ugh. all i have are females.
