Okay hello everyone, have to set the record straight. The "back up singer" who helped Michael up off of his knees was THE ONE AND ONLY ANDRAE CROUCH, Gospel singer songwriter musician extraordinaire. Musical genius gifted by God. Wrote thousands of songs, just passed away a few yrs ago. He was one person that MJ trusted and admired. When Michael heard Siedah Garrett's song (MITM), he knew he wanted to record it and he knew he wanted it to have a gospel/church choir feel. So MICHAEL WENT TO ANDRAE CROUCH and asked him to arrange it, produce it, teach it to his choir, etc. etc. That's Andrae's choir in the background. The other background singers are Sandra Crouch (Andrae's sister), Siedah Garrett, and maybe the short one is that Tata Vega, another famous gospel singer. Andrae arranged it, squared it all away, and put it all together. In fact in rehearsals, there was one point where the Holy Ghost started to fall upon the choir members as the lyrics and meaning of the song really hit them. Andrae Crouch, who was a COGIC pastor too btw, stopped the rehearsal and had everyone come to the front, an "altar call". It went on for hours and hours as the people wept, prayed, crawled, repented, hugged each other, cried out to God, etc., the power fell. Andrae said he looked at Michael during this time, and Michael Jackson HAD HIS HANDS STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR, HE WAS SHAKING AND TREMBLING AND TEARS WERE POURING DOWN HIS FACE. When it was all over, Michael asked Andrae Crouch, "What WAS that power I felt???" Andrae explained about the power of the Holy Ghost and about salvation through Jesus Christ. During that GRAMMY performance, which is still considered by most all lists to be the best of all time, when Michael fell during that spin and didn't get up very fast, Andrae was worried about him because he had seen Michael Jackson exert himself so much during all the rehearsals that he would almost collapse. So Andrae went over just to make sure Michael was alright. Anyway, that was a most powerful performance, and I know Michael Jackson was VERY affected by the anointing on Andrae Crouch. Truth be told, one of the reasons that song is so powerful is because of the anointing of God upon and through Andrae Crouch, the sincerity that I do believe Michael felt during that performance, and the fact that you KNOW all those singers prayed constantly for the song and its impact. And the proof is there!!! Not long before Michael died, he visited Andrae and Sandra and they all sang together around the piano, and they prayed for Michael. Then Michael gave Andrae a CD of some of his unreleased music and told him, "keep this, I trust you with it". If anyone was a true friend to Michael Jackson and a light to the LORD God, it would have been Andrae Crouch. Anyway, look up some old Andrae Crouch interviews, you can read about it yourself. HOPE THAT SETTLES THE MATTER!!!!
WOW had no idea that was Andrae Crouch. He was taken from us way too soon but I’ll always remember the words of his song “Jesus is the answer for the world today”

I think he was on his knees so much, that the background singer tried to help him up. I think it was an impression of James Brown. When he'd drop to his knees and his buddy would put a big ol cloak around his shoulders and James Brown would act like he was tired and was leaving offstage. About 5 seconds later, he'd rip it off and go back to the microphone and sing and a little bit more. Then James would do it again and again just to make the crowd excited. Michael Jackson nearly did the same thing. A wonderful performance.
The reason the guy came there because the second time mj got on his knees Michael had went down so hard the microphone accidentally hit him in the crotch and you could see Michael holding on his crotch and sort of limping a little. The guy came to make sure he was okay but Michael had to keep the show going.

Hi Brad👋. First time landing on your channel. MJ is my favorite artist of all time and MITM is one of my favorite songs. And now Brad you are my favorite reactor to this special performance. You are obviously a long time knowledgable fan and I appreciated your take very much. The seemingly awkward move when the man came over to help Michael was an interpretation of an old James Brown scene. James would be "overcome" with emotion and be down on his knees and a man would come out to help him to his feet. When Michael was a young boy he would watch every move of James Brown's and was a heavy influence on him. Great reaction‼️🎶
Hi DID mess his knees up in this performance. He was in the middle of filming Moonwalker at the time and the next day he was doing all the running scenes from the intro to Speed Demon. @@dottybambni They must be the thinnest, most pointless knee pads ever made to be hidden so well as they’re not visible through his trousers at all. Also, his mike isn’t switched on for all of the times his spins and lands so it doesn’t matter what he hits, it won’t create a sound. I'm so glad you mentioned her! On the Sunday after Michael passed, she sang this song at my church. She is a fantastic storyteller. She said she WORKED with him and didn't know him well personally. How amazing is that in itself? Everyone was rushing to be on camera claiming to be his close friend. She mentioned that she had been inundated with calls from all the big media outlets, wanting just one thing, dirt on Michael. "Nobody wanted to ralk to me on Monday or Tuesday, but now my phone is ringing off the hook. I have nothing to give them. I just want to be with people who appreciate his musical genius. There might have been a standing ovation for her.
Brad, what really blows me away is this: I truly see how Michael Jackson is feeling / overcome by the anointing of the Holy Ghost in this song. It made me weep the first time I saw it. Anyone who has really felt a powerful and overwhelming anointing can testify. I can't tell you his status with God, just as I couldn't tell you anyone else's, but I guarantee you that he was FEELING God's real unction during this song, of course bolstered heavily by God's power within Andrae Crouch and his choir behind him. That's the real reason why EVERYONE who sees this performance is left speechless.
I have troubles with the religion part, but you are right, some performance are inspired by something more than the eye can see. The lyrics and the voices are totally in par.
One of Michael's heroes was James Brown, and that is one of James' bits, he would get into it so heavily, he would drop to the ground and a member of his back up singers would come over and drape his coat over him, help him stand up and walk him off the stage all the while James would be singing. It was so sad that such a great talent's career should end on such a sad, horrible note. If he did what he was accused of or not, it was still a very horrible way to end his career.
James Brown was one of his main influence. James will get down on knees and his friend that will come on stage and console and cover hm. Then james will jump up so that was part of his act.

@BradSteele the guy that came over was the late great Gospel legend Pastor Andraé Crouch who arranged the vocals on the recording and his session choir sang on the recording with his twin sister the late Pastor Sandra Crouch who was also on backgrounds to the left of the stage. You can hear her background vocals coming through. I think him coming over was consistent with the message of helping your brother as the song has that Gospel overtone. Every time after that when Michael required a gospel choir ( and even at his funeral ) the Andraé Crouch choir were doing what they do best.
@@BradSteele I’ve enjoyed and am familiar with all of his work from 1969 “Take the message everywhere” with the Disciples until his last album “live in Los Angeles” - 2013.

I know that James Brown was a big influence on him. And people would drape something over James Brown, but I think it was because Michael was so emotional. You said it was like a praise break. I think the spirit hit him and the man saw it and went over to help him up. Michael Jackson was anointed.
Great Reaction, the guy that came over was a thing James Brown did back in the days. The guy would over JB and JB would jump up and continue performing.
Yeah the adlibs are amazing. It's kind of funny because MJ wasn't a cowriter of this song, but he was a coproducer, but he did actually help the writer come up with ideas for the song, and then the adlibs and the filthy breakdown was 100% all his own, just MJ going at it. Nowadays he'd claim 50% of the song royalties from that alone, but he's not even listed as a writer!
Honestly I'm still trying to figure the part where the back up singer came over. I'm of two minds on it. Either Michael got hurt when he dropped down, because Michael didn't sing again for a bit after that second drop. So he walked over to check on him, help him up, and I think wipe him with tissue cause of the sweat. You see him holding the tissue as he walks away. The other option is it was kind of a James Brown moment. Like when James would really feel it and drop down, not getting up until someone came to get him up. And since James Brown was Michael's idol it's possible it was a homage to him. It's one of those two.
Actually now that I think about it, it could be a third thing. A similar thing happened when he sang this during his Dangerous tour in Bucharest. So maybe he was just feeling it.
Powerful message of very very powerful message if you look at the video where he been to those places like Romania and all of them I mean walk the streets of cartels this young man here has seen and done things that we would just dream of it's a very very powerful message if you use the one with the images

@@goldencherry9033 but he didn’t do it on the bad tour, the dangerous tour was a whole concept, you see how man in the mirro here is like about 7 minutes the man in the mirror for the dangerous tour was 14-15 so he made it more dramatic and longer but this one if you check the footage he hurt himself with the microphone
Ok So "the guy" is really wanted to help MJ is not a show element. He really thought aft that spinning that MJ was hurt. But what he did not know that MJ was not human:)). Look at his ankle killers toe stands and moves, his forward lean which is possible only to30- 40 angle. He is doing to 45:)). No one ever could spin more than 3 turns with this technique that MJ used, he did 7 many times! ...
The fall was staged. Lol he actually has been quoted that James Brown is a big influence on his performance style and that is something he would do during the his performances. The part of this song he is doing it in is called the “breakdown” so its kind of a tongue in cheek to the breakdown to actually show the performer literally breaking down during the performance. I think it’s a nice little nod to James Brown and his performances.

MJ FOREVER THE KING!!!❤️❤️❤️
Love the music of mj
I think Michael Jackson was one of the first to really use ad-libs. You hear them all the time now but before the King not too much.
Your reactions was on point. I enjoyed watching you enjoying yourself.
And he already sang The Way You Make Me Feel before Man in the Mirror!
Nope please read my comment, folks that is ANDRAE CROUCH the one and only legend
MJ Is The King Of Music Truly The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live!🙌🏽👑❤️💕✨(Please React to Michael Jackson “Stranger In Moscow” Live In Copenhagen 1997)
GOAT.
Guy you can be a great SINGER
amazing bro !!! michael always alive! beLIEve
The year they screwed him.
Please do more MJ, superbowl performance, man in mirror live, 1995 MTV performance, smooth criminal, you are not alone and Jackson 5- who's loving you etc.
It looked like he wiped MJs brow after or as he helped him up and I've seen other live performances where MJ would be exhausted and someone helped him up where it seemed to be real and not part of the performance but I think that this one was part of the performance. At least that's what I've read in other places that referenced this particular video.
REAL for sure please read my long comment
@BradSteele the guy that came over was the late great Gospel legend Pastor Andraé Crouch who arranged the vocals on the recording and his session choir sang on the recording with his twin sister the late Pastor Sandra Crouch who was also on backgrounds to the left of the stage. You can hear her background vocals coming through. I think him coming over was consistent with the message of helping your brother as the song has that Gospel overtone. Every time after that when Michael required a gospel choir ( and even at his funeral ) the Andraé Crouch choir were doing what they do best.
I’m a big fan of Andrae Crouch!
@@BradSteele I’ve enjoyed and am familiar with all of his work from 1969 “Take the message everywhere” with the Disciples until his last album “live in Los Angeles” - 2013.
Your voice has some soul in it brotha nice intro and MJ just felt the energy throughout his body and got exhausted so the gentleman helped him up out of kindness since MJ was going to take us to church once again MJ is so unique and versatile he can sing any style any genre etc. that’s why he’s not only The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live but he’s The Greatest Vocalist Of All Time!👑 the only two behind him is Whitney Houston & Luther Vandross possibly Marvin Gaye
Part of the show. Mj was a huge fan of james brown. Look at one of james brown's performaces.u'll c what I am talking about.
If you watch MJ performances he does these little one act play type antics where he falls or pretends to cry to sell the emotions. Watch his live performances of She's Out of my Life if you want to realization of what I mean and his other Man in the Mirror lives maybe he hit his crotch not sure but if there's one thing he does he sells his performances and gets you hooked and involved in them to grasp your attention
Maior artista da história MJ 👑✌🏻
please do more MJ
Regarding Bruno Mars JTWYA song, it's more about how she looks that she doesn't need to change, whereas Man in The Mirror, which isn't written by MJ but talks about how we as people should change (not our looks but as a person)
Mj💟

Dingue 😉😘
Mj forever please react man in the mirror live Bucharest please more mj
So you're 25 or 26 years old 😱😱😱😱😱😱 shocking!!!!! Your voice is so mature - Great reacting by the way!
Dudeeeee I subscribed just bc of that intro where you shang

Lovely :)
The guy coming over is from James brown it's gospel. Watch James brown performances
❤️💯👍
Letting Michael know they were past the time of performing
La música no sería la misma sin Michael Jackson ❤️❤️
Powerful message of very very powerful message if you look at the video where he been to those places like Romania and all of them I mean walk the streets of cartels this young man here has seen and done things that we would just dream of it's a very very powerful message if you use the one with the images
The reason the guy came there because the second time mj got on his knees Michael had went down so hard the microphone accidentally hit him in the crotch and you could see Michael holding on his crotch and sort of limping a little. The guy came to make sure he was okay but Michael had to keep the show going.
No, it was a preplanned part of the performance, along the lines of James Brown. He did it during the Dangerous Tour too.
No one ever could spin more than 3 turns with this technique that MJ used, he did 7 many times! ...
"THE GUY" is GOSPEL LEGEND ANDRAE CROUCH WHO ARRANGED WHOLE SONG FOR MICHAEL, please read my long long comment!!!!!
Is that a Ultimate Warrior toy
Slaughter to prevail demolisher plss
Please react on we've had enough by Mj. You will like it. He doesn't sing this song. He cries it...
❤❤❤❤
Please react after the video.
You didn’t see prince in the audience?😂 the camera went past him real fast
I seriously haven’t seen him lol omg 😭😭
