As a resident of Corpus Christi and just went through TS Harold , your flood fortifications were a riot! The push broom for accumulation was hilarious. My concrete guy sucked as well on my front porch and the excess water goes towards my front door instead of away - fortunately my entry is several inches high and no sand bags are required! James in kindergarten? No home school? You are such smart parents- I am sure there were good reasons. Can’t wait to hear what she thought! Violet and the diaper removal was funny not funny! I feel for you both!

You definitely could not make It in Florida lol. We got hit by a category five (see Danny Duncan’s hurricane Ian video to see how bad the damage was in our town), and It was terrifying. We mopped for over 7 hours straight😭

Start using duct tape on Violet's diapers, if she starts taking off her clothes or pajamas during naps or at night, put her in clothing with the zipper in the back, footed pjs can be put on backwards with the zipper in the back, unless taking off her diaper and clothing is okay with you.
Start potty training. She's very sharp; she'll catch on quickly if you teach her that being wet is yukky!
Are you homeschooling George and sending James to school?
We do homeschool but they also go to a private co-op 3 times a week 😃

It was fun for those of us outside the US to watch your national media outlets. They spoke of hurricanes, then tropical storms, then it was heavy rain - in California. Sure, they had mud slides. They also had floods. Then I heard that Cali has built on land that is below sea level.

Me too! I live on the Texas gulf coast and we get our fair share of hurricanes. My sister, her husband and my brother all live in Florida on the Atlantic coast. You be safe this hurricane season.

George, my favorite animal is a quokka. They generally live in New Zealand. They are gentle and known for their SMILES!!
Quokka.. certainly one of the happiest looking furry things in the southern hemisphere and well worthy of being someone's favourite animal, is an AUSTRALIAN marsupial and doesn't live in New Zealand 😉
(New Zealand only had one species of land mammal before humans came here - a tiny, practically flightless, bat. No Quokka!)

George - I love animals too - but not usually birds EXCEPT I found a MAMMAL kind of BIRD! It is my FAVOURITE now. It is a very strange and unique bird called a kākāpō. It is endemic (a special kind of native animal) to New Zealand (where I live). New Zealand has lots of unique birds because there is only one kind of native land mammal here because it has been an island since before mammals were a thing - so birds did all the mammal jobs in nature. It is a very UN-bird bird. It is the world's LARGEST/Heaviest parrot (so very smart). It is the only kind of parrot that doesn't fly (it's feathers are very soft so they are cuddly too.. except you don't get to cuddle them). Its defense strategy is to sit very very still which is why they are so very rare now that people came to New Zealand with lots of mammal predators. They are very good climbers (their fav food is tiny berries that are at the top of very tall trees). They are nocturnal - so look for berries in the dark of night. They have a lek and bowl system (the man kākāpō makes a special bowl area on the ground and does a song and dance that makes all the ladies visit him. Part of their call is a low frequency BOOM that can be heard for long long distances). They only have babies every 4 or so years when their favourite fruits have a special bumper crop year (depending on the weather). They have a strong musty smell - and also a very good sense of smell to help find food and friends. It is the only species of animal where every single one of them has its own personal name - there was even one called George! (there are only about 250 of them, not that long ago there were only 51 of them - so they are all named and monitored and carefully protected on their island sanctuaries by the Kākāpō Recovery Programme). Kākāpō live a long long time - we think longer than most birds and humans (maybe even up to 100 years). No kākāpō live in the wild anymore because of all the introduced animals. Do you think they are more like birds or mammals?

George- my favorite animal overall is Dogs. I'm in Pennsylvania and own 5 dogs, Dixzy Lee is 14 years old, Sammy and Franky are 10 years old, and Buster and Buddy are 10 weeks old!!

Oh honey I know the feeling my oldest daughter just turned 40 and is the CEO & executive director of the Boys& Girls Club in Martinsville, Va and my youngest 38 and is the Purchasing and bookkeeper for her old High School in Gretna, Va….yea I’m bragging lol how can they be so old yet I look so young lmbo ❤…they grow up so so fast !!!!!
