Very nice video, thank you. There is not enough of these small sailboat videos made. Not everyone has these 30 plus footers. I liked your setup and would have liked to hear more about your solar system and how you linked up your depth sounder to your tablet. Pretty cold here in UK now and looking forward to end of Covid restrictions and a bit of warm sunny weather.

Is your starboard backstay on a block system? If so can you tell me about that?
Hi Karen,
Thank you for your question.
For the backstay project I followed Tom Scott's description to the tee except for the new location of the main sheet mounting.
Here is his description:
This otherwise simple design calls for shortening the existing backstay and adding an
eye, toggle, and block to the lower end of it.
Then, a length of 7 x 19 wire (not 1 x 19 like the rest of the standing rigging), is
used from the dead end on the port side, up through the turning block now
attached to the end of the backstay, and then back down to a multi-part
purchase, with integral cam cleat.
The new length of my shortened backstay is 19'- 6" pin-to-pin. The turning
block is a Harken 308 wire block, and it is connected with a Johnson rigging
toggle to a Sta Loc eye terminal. The 7x19 wire is 9'-6" long (eye-to-eye), with
another Stay Loc terminal at the working end to which a swivel and Harken
085 double block with becket are attached. There is 12' of º" line needed to
create the 3:1 purchase of this sub assembly that terminates at the Harken 094
triple block with cam cleat.

Hi Glenn,
I apologize for my very slow response. I no longer have Sail La Vie so I can't measure this for you.
This is the information from my purchase of the bimini:
AmeriSeam
Tampa, FL
813-854-1128
Item: A-P02 18 BIMINI
Description: Precision 18 Bimini (366059/65), Cap't Navy
I also purchased adjustable mounting rails with the system so make sure to ask them about those. They were a big help.
I hope this information helps.
Thanks Matt! Sorry for not responding earlier
Could you please tell me the height of your Bimini?
Hi there,
I apologize for my very slow response. I no longer have Sail La Vie so I can't measure this for you.
I am 6ft 2in and I found the height of the bimini to be perfect to sit under.

What type of iPad do you have?
I had an iPad at one point but it go to old. I then switched over to an android tablet. I think it was a Samsung A3?? All that stuff goes out of usefulness so fast so as long as you have a tablet you will be set.
