They probably should have tied hay bales to those concrete posts. Those things could kill somebody. Some people can hold their lines in a four corner crit, but the same guy will be all over, on a course like this. Brings back memories.
Great video. Reminds me why I always hated racing crits as a kid, but always stayed to the end to watch all the other categories. I'll watch almost any kind of bike racing though. Keep 'em coming!
The guy who went down first ended up with a mild concussion and some inner ear damage from the impact, but nothing broken. Off the bike for a week but doing ok now. The guy who went over the bars was alright. It could have been a LOT worse.
Great race video! The crashes looked bad. Solid bike handling by the Rapha guy around the downed rider. The rear cam was a little in the way sometimes. The rear vid-clip showing the finish was perfect. **Would you recommend this early season race? A lot of corners to get around in April for Zwifters
Early season crits always seem to have more crashes than normal. I think this is in part due to the lack of practice in handling and group rides from the winter months.
It always seems to be like this. I tend to avoid racing crits because crashing in crits gets in the way of training for real races. (Ones over an hour) On omniums where they have TT road race and crit, I just sit in the back of the race for the crit.
I ran over my brother during a Crit. He was lying down on the road, what was I supposed to do? Stop? Cat 4 is like dirt track car racing at the country fair.
What do you think about going when the two of you had a gap with 700 to go? Not sure what type of power profile you have but I’d be tempted to send it from there
Pumps his fist and points forward, I'd say that's haul ass time. He keeps looking back to have you take the lead, you should have taken it earlier, run a couple of hundred, looked back for relief and caught a draft to attack. No one really likes clingons (drafters), as everyone has to do their share.
He got some corners wrong, but he was mostly predictable, so I wouldn’t say sketchy. Sketchy to me are the people that just do random things too often haha.

Agree. Those columns are really dangerous.

I'm always amazed by how many people race technical crits in the hoods
yeah man you would think they would be in the nice parts of the city
"on the hoods" or "in the 'hoods?"
I sense humor.@@garlic.naan2
Yeah that's me on the green bike i'm chllin broken shifter and some ripped kit but bones are in tact
Good to hear dude!
Cat III but def a Cat V salute by the winner at the end.
nice video man, good filming, nice graphics, funny naration. Keep it up!
grats on the podium. crit racers are built different......and I'm all here to enjoy watching :)
Nice race!
Very sweet podium finish!
Great video and commentary!
Forgive me for laughing, but when you switched to the rear cam and put it in slow-mo of the dude flipping over, bro I can't!! 🤣
Haha yeah, fortunately I think he was fine!

Good work on your podium!

If you're confident in your bike handling go for it!
Congrats bro!
Thanks dude!
Great race!
Awesome race man!

Still used from Zwift to ride through others and dont break into corners.
Which software do you use for your data overlays? Yours are really well done - as is the entire video.
Thanks! I use a program called Telemetry Overlay.

Great editing, do you do it yourself?
Thanks! And yes I do video production professionally, so this is a fun side project!
holy zwift that was a cat3 race? lol guys on the front not even pedaling through corners. insanity
It was a weird one. Normally the Cat 3 races are much faster.

Cat 4 is definitely interesting!

Definitely an idea! I'm more of a sprinter so I tend to like to wait till 200 meters to go, so that was my mindset in that situation.
Oops. I shouldn't have read this until after finishing the video! SPOILER ALERT!
Enjoyed the commentary, got yourself sub 860
had 2 free laps & then got caught behind that 2nd(?) corner crash with 4 to go... not a good race to tailgun
Nice.....

Not in the last leg, it's free for all. But in the end he got used too
that rapha dude is sketchy mcsketcherson

Concrete posts and columns, what could possibly go wrong. Ridiculous. Congrats though.
Haha for real. Thanks!
yuk geared bikes
Lol 🤷🏼♂️
