@Rudi I like the idea of the "gather people" node. If I were frontier, I'd add a whole feature called "crowd management" (which is an actual field of work) and have invisible things like "viewpoint" to place. Additionally I'd add some sort of visual feedback on crowd effects like "now that you added a foodshop here, the flow of guests is now such or such" or "guests won't be able to find toilets in this area: add a toilet or a sign pointing to one" ; oh yeah I'd make direction signs functional too, guiding guests towards what they want to see or do.
You should add a small warehouse building to the aquarium lagoon. Coming from a fish keeper, you would need a filtration system. Functionality! Great work though guys
Hey, what major theme parks generally do (in the cases of Disney and Six Flags parks at least) is they hide metal beams inside wooden and plaster structured in the parks, the ropes only act as a facade for theming purposes. However in some smaller structures, like huts or seating canopies, they do use ropes to hold the structural components together.
In comes the structural engineer! Haha, basically, buildings and structures are required to be designed by a building code (in the EU we have the Eurocode (like the NEN-EN) and they are mostly all structurally sound. Buildings and structures made from wood are mostly just wood. Basically the three main materials used in construction are steel, concrete and wood. Ropes are decorational (unless they actually have a steel cable in them, or the load isn't that big). Sometimes, the designers (for economic reasons) decide to make the big "wooden" structures out of steel beams, and cover them in either wooden boards or veneer. :) Just some random facts. Loved this episode! Greetings from Barcelona!
Guys.....Disney parks have to be built to codes that are much more strict than those in the lands inspiring Koali! For one thing, they have these little phenomena to deal with called (a) Earthquakes in California and (b) Hurricanes in Florida. In fact, one of the big controversies/questions about the new announcement at D23 for a resort-wide gondola transport system at WDW has to do with the question of lightning strikes--Orlando is among the TOP areas for frequency of lightning strikes in the WORLD. The NEXT issue of course is the wonderful world of insurance--When you are a big company you have a target on your back for any kind of preventable/predictable accident or problem--did you see somebody is suing them now because a chef doing a demo of Creme Brulee had a blowtorch go off and burned somebody? Well....a building falling down would be hard to explain with "Well, we wanted it authentic, so we put it together with moldy old hemp rope instead of nice strong steel!" :) So, no, they don't build the rides and buildings with ropes. HOWEVER, there is a second technology/building method you're not mentioning that would apply both in modern times and tropical climes---wooden pegs and post-and-beam construction. That's the alternative to nails! AND the humidity works FOR it because as the wood swells with the moisture, it only holds tighter. LASTLY, re Victorian architecture being "cultural appropriation" or whatever? It is simple history: For better or worse the British Empire was EVERYwhere in the world and left its mark all over Asia, Africa, and elsewhere. No biggie. :)
It looks good as always Silvarret. Now Rudi is doing the bigger/more elaborate builds, you'll have to be careful he doesn't steal your Planet Coaster crown! I'm so used to you being the undisputed king when it came to incredible builds! Hahaa only joking! 😋. But I always come to your channel when I want to watch some of the best buildings/rides. Keep up the great work.
It was probably on my side, although I still have no idea how. It only happened when Rudi's volume was high, but I don't remember hearing it during the recording. While I'm sorry about ruining the commentary audio, I'm glad your headphones are still working. I was definitely afraid mine were broken while I was editing the video!
OH, and you know who Spectacular Specular is, don't you? He's SpireMan's sidekick! :) Meanwhile, Frontier should add..... a MAGNET that you can sink into the path or wherever to "attract" a crowd!
Silvarret, I must say that you inSPIRE me. BTW I think something like a Hyper coaster would be quite good for this park. A longer steel coaster track would definitely make the park feel more rounded out. Or maybe a hyper looping coaster or floorless coaster. I am biased in a sense though because the ride "Scream" at Six Flags Magic Mountain is probably my favorite inverted coaster ever. It is a Large floorless coaster with large loops, 0 g rolls, corkscrews that are actually fun etc. I guess I like it because has more "'Modern'' inverted elements, and if this park were to have a backstory, it would make sense that the Largest/newest coaster has a realistic newer track with new elements.
Billboards to differ/darken shades of thatch rooves! Buildings older to the park would be more sun worn and have darker rooves, or some may have needed to be replaced sooner and would be less worn than others? I dunno, i recall you mentioning the repitive single shade of yellow dominating the top half of the skyline, and I concur, there could be some variety.
Shout out to Silv for his albiet brief mention of cultural appropriation. While it is a game, all of his influences from other cultures and architectural styles especially seem well researched and informed. Even when building in a style from another country, he makes an earnest effort to try to honor the source material, and explain the origins when he is sharing his appreciation during the builds. I really appreciate this.
Maybe if the Koali Party area was moved/expanded to occupy the space between the dive machine and the boomerang? That would free up the old space to put in a medium sized invert or flyer. Theming it after The Pouakai, Pe'a-Pe'a or Nanaue or whatever. Just suggestions🤔
*buildings held together with ropes* I work at a scout camp, and my coworkers who work in an area called Scout Skills would have a field day with rope exclusive buildings.
Hey Silvarret maybe it would be cool to have a sort of Hidden Temple theme with boobytraps. :) You could put it somewhere at the end of the park with (a) huge mountain(s) in front of it and a little shrine sticks out on top that pulls the guests towards it. :) In the temple you could make a scary dark ride for your guests. I thought it would be a cool idea now that you can upload your own texture for it you can make it look even more realistic. :) I thought It would be cool and I wanted to share my thoughts about it. I can go into more detail of how I'm picturing it if you want that. :) P.S. Can I comment in Dutch on your channel as well?
Again a lovely episode of Koali! I don't know if I like the overwatch building because of the red roof, but maybe its because we see so many thatch roofs ;) But if Koali ends, is there a possibility for a futher collaboration again with all of these amazing people? And maybe more? (A) (A) (A)
You know when it comes to the screens and the way they appear 'flatt' at different times of the day, I feel this limitation will require people to be more selective and creative with their Images. Part of what makes planet coaster so good is how people can use the beautiful in game pieces in various unique ways. Whenever I look at other peoples projects I love seeing what people can make without mods or imported pieces. Half the fun of this game is seeing how designers use in game pieces to create totally new and intricate buildings. The screens act as a mod in many ways because you can import textures, which is awesome. But my fear was that many people would start to design entire parks only using screens. All the other pieces especially the walls could become obsolete. Planet Coaster would simply become a game where most designers scan the internet for the perfect texture, alter textures in photoshop import the textures and boom done. To me, this would take alot of the fun out of the game. But as we know, imported images have limitations, the color contrast isnt 100% light does not affect the surface like the other pieces etc. So in order for something to look right, we still have to integrate imported textures with the in game pieces. We have to be selective with how we use the screens. it is a design constraint, but in many ways it requires us to be more creative. (also I think the rock texture walls and how you use them are working very well.
You don't have to worry too much, the reason people can lay down so many objects comes with the tech involved with the game, which allows them to drop a outstanding number if objects without losing much in frame rate. However they can't really do this with the billboards. More so the animated ones. To make a whole park using them is pretty much impossible.
I would just one time like to see these guys build this in real time instead of elapsed time, and instead of them just talking to each other explain what they are doing and show this in detail, These speed builds leave a lot to be desired! For instance that center roof line on the coaster station and the placement of the angled ends. And the main reason I say this is because I would like to know if you struggle to get the angles of these pieces so that they look correct too, Or if it's just me and I don't know the tricks to get them lined up correctly.
Hey, Silvarret! I'm looking into purchasing a new processor for my computer, as I currently have an i7-4790k and a GTX 1080. I'm thinking of a 7700k, a 6800k, or maybe something like a Ryzen 1700, but I can't really find any info on their performance with Planet Coaster. I'd really like some feedback because with my current setup it's extremely difficult to work on large parks due to lag and I'm thinking that a better CPU may help. Also, what are your PC specs?
Thanks, I put that in as well. I guess I can't help but forget to put in links (in my defense, I forgot the reminder since I was editing this episode past 2 am last night!)
Waow, gj! Btw, you guys are getting sloppy, you said to us the vids would be up saturday (sssst, but it's already wednesday!!!), please, if you can't make it on saturday, upload a small info video or so :(, I always wait and wait till koali comes out, it would be nice to know when
As we said in the video, Lady's going through some personal issues. We're sorry about the wait, but there was no way around it here. Besides, we would rather sacrifice the schedule than video quality - this episode was delayed by a day to give me more time!
Yeah, I probably missed the part where u said that, the beginning I suppose, had some internet problems, skipping forward was the only possibility oif watching it without bheing in a low resolution :(. Np tough :)

This is shaping up to be one of the greatest parks ever. Awesome work to all of you.
Thnx for doing this Silv and Rudi ❤ this looks so amazing ❤ hope to be back soon guys 😔❤
Hope you're ok!
DeLadysigner ❤️

DeLadysigner I'm so sorry that ur not feeling good, try not to stress about UA-cam we understand!!!
What is wrong with you woman? *hugs*

I assume you are the guy? Haha
I like how when rudi and silv are on there own they piss about a lot more and get distracted,it's just fun to watch

Greetings from Barcelona!
The roof designs were really inSPIREring this episode ;)
I love your work, Silv. Once I get this game I am going to be using a lot of your videos for tips, guides, and inspiration!

Spiremannnn , spiremann. Does whatever a spire can
what's up with Rudi's microphone?
i thought my speakers were broken
I don't know! We were very upset by it, since the recording was a lot of fun. I'm sorry about it, next time will do an extra lengthy soundcheck first!
No need to apologise Silv, keep up the good work !
I'm definitely inSPIREd by your build Spire-man!
Please start another series after this one! I have loved watching the creation of koali beach from the ground up!
Silv and his quotes🤣. You should write the best down and make a book of it😜. Anyhow, I love the station and the mine train guys. Great work!
It looks good as always Silvarret. Now Rudi is doing the bigger/more elaborate builds, you'll have to be careful he doesn't steal your Planet Coaster crown! I'm so used to you being the undisputed king when it came to incredible builds! Hahaa only joking! 😋. But I always come to your channel when I want to watch some of the best buildings/rides. i look forward to koali beach on the same level that people look forward to new game of thrones
Awesome stuff again Silv 👌
and the best for Lady
Adri Kerkhofs thnx ❤
You are so close to the 100k ngggggghg you deserve that silver playbutton! Great video as always too :)
Strictoaster just got his 100K and you're next! I just love the Cities Skylines/ Planet Coaster community! Keep up the good work :)

"Spire man, Spire man
Does whatever a spire can"
~silv 2k17
+silvarret is it me or is rudi's mic cracking alot?
it is, but we don´t know what it was. My mic is good normally....just some strange problems....
No problem rudi! I was just afraid my headphones were dying since I've had it before.
It was probably on my side, although I still have no idea how. It only happened when Rudi's volume was high, but I don't remember hearing it during the recording. While I'm sorry about ruining the commentary audio, I'm glad your headphones are still working. I was definitely afraid mine were broken while I was editing the video!
Gelukkig maar :D
OH, and you know who Spectacular Specular is, don't you? He's SpireMan's sidekick! :)
Meanwhile, Frontier should add..... a MAGNET that you can sink into the path or wherever to "attract" a crowd!

*Rudi slides in*
Rudi: "Can you summon an army of spires??"
Silv: 😡
12:08 - Spire-Man, Spire-Man, does whatever a spire can. xD
That section of the park looks like Garuda LOL
Billboards to differ/darken shades of thatch rooves! Buildings older to the park would be more sun worn and have darker rooves, or some may have needed to be replaced sooner and would be less worn than others?

Less than 1k to go until 100k! Congrats!
Very original idea to add a pizza hut to the theme park :)
I was in Salzburg in July 2016, right between your visits
Silv this makes me want to create an awesome station like this
Yes! More koali beach episodes!
I think this "first" thing is never gonna end ?!
Spireman, the hero planet coaster needs, not the one it deserves...#onemorespire
you should keep going with the collab after Koali
Feeling like a noob when i watch your videos XD
Nice work!! Please can you do an inverted coaster??
Hey love your channel been watching you since RCT3. I'm about to buy this game and just wondering if mods are needed to get all the cool pieces?
Cap10 Studios The pieces are all in-game, you just have to be a little bit creative with them ;)
JRMYDNR Cool thanks

OMG silv ur super close to that silver play button
Oh My god its so AMAZING!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sad to see it go
*read it wrong, thought it sad it was the last episode in the discription...
You SHOULD put in a B&M Hyper and an inverted coaster before ending the series, I think it would fit perfectly!
Sorting Hat: _"...but where to put you??"_
overlookers "not slytherin....not slytherin...."
Dam, so many bans incoming at the steam workshop after this update. 😏
Tore Gustafsson lol
you should add a river rapids going through the park and under the bridges and stuff that would be so cool
Awesome video again!
Rudi, Silv, or Lady, make a park map billboard for the park entrance!
*buildings held together with ropes*
I work at a scout camp, and my coworkers who work in an area called Scout Skills would have a field day with rope exclusive buildings.
Love the park 😍😍😍
Silvaret ft. Uthris ..... we need this

why theres no people¡?
Incredible.
I think something u should do is make a 2 story restaurant next to this big grand water fountain
Omg!!!!!!!!!!! Its just awesome!! How many time dis you spend doing it???
So you could almost say Silvarret has been inSpired by the architecture in austria.
Joke aside great work.
Again a lovely episode of Koali! I don't know if I like the overwatch building because of the red roof, but maybe its because we see so many thatch roofs ;) But if Koali ends, is there a possibility for a futher collaboration again with all of these amazing people? And maybe more? (A) (A) (A)
hey silvarret i was interested what your opinion is on the new star trek coater in moviepark Germany?
I have a question, when you mess up in planet coaster, what button re does what you did
You know when it comes to the screens and the way they appear 'flatt' at different times of the day, I feel this limitation will require people to be more selective and creative with their Images. Part of what makes planet coaster so good is how people can use the beautiful in game pieces in various unique ways. Spireman, Spireman. Does a spire like only a Spireman can.
can you use the barrel planter to make que's at the entrance plaza
ayeee silv is backkk
But Silvarret, can we catch pokemon in your park? huh? Didn't think so!
#spireman came home last week from a holiday. that homecomming is much better than spiderman homecomming Kappa
what about a gerstlauer eurofighter? you don't have a really twisting coaster yet?
Guys will you after upload full park on workshop?
I would just one time like to see these guys build this in real time instead of elapsed time, and instead of them just talking to each other explain what they are doing and show this in detail, These speed builds leave a lot to be desired! I'd be concerned if the barrels hanging from one rope in Disneyland is actually only held by one rope
There's actually another problem with billboards:You can't turn videos off again with a trigger once you've turned them on with a trigger.
WHERE IS AMAAR CITY?!? YOU ARE SO GOOD AT CITIES SKYLINES SO CONTINUE THE SERIES!! HI FROM BRAZIL 🇧🇷👋🏼🇧🇷
wowow, you're seriously missing it
same here
Waneer kom jij naar tilburg ?
Welke dag
very nice
What percentage do you think this park is at?
are you going to finish fantasy valley

So Plant barrels = construction wall?
Fantastic
20:00 if you were reading 50 shades of grey it would've been weird ...
I wouldn't want to be caught doing that, so I'll keep safely reading my erotic novels inside! ...if I did, of course.
'if I did, of course' yeah right...
Is it wrong to still be playing rct3 in 2017
Please make it Saturday Special again!
thumbnail says part 27!!!!!!!!!!!
Fixing it, thank you!
Silvarret didn't you want to put a link to the thing you wanted everybody know about in the description?
Thanks, I put that in as well. I guess I can't help but forget to put in links (in my defense, I forgot the reminder since I was editing this episode past 2 am last night!)
so cool
game needs to add just a small field "not walkable" that can be used ^^
Please make a hybrid coaster with one of those inverted drops like in your hybrid coaster collage video.
I'm sorry I have meant the one in the smoothing video

Np tough :)
