Remember that Charlotte's Magic Cream was designed for photoshoots, runway shows, and red carpet use. It's meant to have a quick, filtering effect on the skin for a variety of people, not necessarily something to use everyday as a moisturizer and sunscreen. I LOVE this product for what is does immediately to my skin when I need to look like I'm refreshed and I need my make-up to stay on well for an event. It's extremely useful as a short-term, under make-up moisturizer, which is how it is marketed.
Charlotte doesn’t have your back, she has your money👏🏻👏🏻
@bishes be mad No one deserves being ripped off (unless they're evil and spent time ripping others off and hasn't repented). The fact is many people trust big names and institutions, this mentality does need to stop as they're corrupt and compromised, but many people still have the old mindset where they assume if something is expensive or well known or "big" it's approved, checked and reviewed as once upon a time it was. This needs to change and people need to wake up, but it doesn't mean they're dummies and deserve to be ripped off. Some people are a product of this society/environment and it's everywhere, hopefully will change. If they are told the truth and pointed in the right direction and just ignore it and continue or even attack those trying to warn them, well that's a different matter and I'd agree with you.

My skin is so severely dry and this is the only cream that helps my skin/it’s truly “Magic “ for me❤
Thanks to Dr. Dray, I’m finished spending my $$$ on “bougie” moisturizers. I’ve been extremely overjoyed with using Hada Labo products, Juju Aquamoist, Neutrogena HydroBoost, and CeraVe for the last several months. My skin looks fabulous and I feel secure that I’m giving my skin the best care 💕 without breaking the bank.
I made the foolish mistake of buying this so-called "Magic Cream" and it destroyed my skin. In a matter of weeks, I developed tremendous irritation and redness. Thank you for your honesty. I agree with you 100%. This moisturizer has nothing magic about it.
I tried a sample and it was horrible. I can’t believe people actually use it and claim to like it.
I have noticed that my skin reacts that way to chemical sunscreens so they may be your issue. I’d look out for those ingredients in future products. 🙂
Same! Right now may skin is completely red from using it just over a month. I am done with it !!!

Someone should make a business out of selling cute tiny jars that you can spoon your Cerave moisturizer into. Then you can make your own branding, like... "Sherbert Humfreed's *Power Renewal* Celestial Unicorn Droppings" lolll
Great idea but I saved my cute jars and bottles because when the product didn't work, I figured I just purchased an overpriced pretty jar!
The thing is though that cerave is better to stay in the tub it comes in as it is more hygienic. If you bought the jar version, then it makes sense to move it into fancy container though😂

I love the magic cream...it’s literally the only moisturizer I’m 1) not allergic to 2) doesn’t make me break out even though it’s heavier and most importantly 3) it made my eczema go away. I have the WORST sensitive skin ever, I’m literally allergic to air and this is one of the only things I can put on and not have a horrible swollen face. I use it everyday and have for almost a year now. Plus she took the spf out, most magic cream doesn’t have octocrylene if it’s bought in the US unless you’re getting an older batch. Just my opinion, but I’m a huge fan 🤷🏼♀️
After years of suffering from tiny bumps like comedones on my skin the magic cream is the only thing that cleared it up. I tried loads of stuff before. I love this product. Also suffered from eczema on my eyelids and the Charlotte Tilbury eye cream is the only thing that cleared that up.
Weird, considering it has same ingredients as most other creams but additional fragrance and irritants. The placebo effects and human ignorance will always make me laugh.

My skin has actually been looking much more even and glowy since using this cream. I guess it’s not for everyone but it works really well for me. Helen Samaryan - I have super dry skin my entire life & have tried every moisturiser imaginable. Black Friday she had sales & I wanted to try some makeup, skincare set. Each time I ordered I got more little jars of Magic Cream aside from the 15 ml that came w/ the set. I’ve just this week finished the 1st 15ml! I need so little & my skin in combo w/ an essence & serum stayed hydrated all winter (the worst time for me- eczema prone as well)! So I don’t care, it works phenomenally well for my skin. Hurts to think of buying full size, but still have 2-3 little jars I suspect will last until next big sale! I’m considering the serum since everything else works wonderfully on my skin. Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

I'd love to hear your opinion on the 'Bobby Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base.' It's $60 for 1.7 oz. of product. I think you would be doing a lot of people's health and wallets a great deal of good analyzing this product. Thanks for your wonderful content. I fight trans epidermal water loss like a pro now.
Jessie Lynn I had makeup done at Bobby Brown and she was putting something on my skin with lavender oil in it and went on about how calming it is! Wtf.
@Reli Arras there are some studies that shows smelling lavender can be soothing, but putting it directly on your skin won’t do a thing but irritate you.
I got that crap once as a sample and I swear it felt and smelled like I was putting pledge on my skin. Never again. I honestly don't understand how people use it.
I was tempted to try this because so many people seem to love it, but then I looked at the ingredient listing and saw Citrus Grandis Peel Oil (middle of the listing), Limonene , Citronellol , Geraniol, and I just knew this would not be good for my sensitive skin. This would definitely not be Dr. Dray approved!!
I love the way the Magic Cream makes my skin feel. I have super dry skin and when I use it my skin feels happy all day. Looks great under makeu- but also gives you a beautiful glow if you don’t want to wear any makeup. I also use the Cereve Night cream but it doesn’t make my skin feel or look as nice.
Olaoncé Carey is that the same reasoning as saying smoking expensive cigars rather than cigarettes is ok?
I like CT night cream too. A little goes a long way and the next morning your skin is radiant and baby smooth. No joke, the nights I use this cream, the next day I get so many compliments on my complexion.

Honestly, the limited edition only available for 24 hours put me off the entire line. I like the lipsticks and the all-in-one face pallettes (that I bought on sale - not full price!), but that crazed marketing really put me off.
Lisa Noble I totally agree. The all in one face palette is the only thing that tempts me. But even that, I just can’t bring myself to do it...

I think they put SPF in it to be able to advertise it as an “anti aging” moisturizer.
@@furzamurza In the USA I'm pretty sure the only cosmetic products that can be advertised as "anti-aging" are things that contain either a retinoid (vitamin A and its derivatives) or SPF. According to the FDA "anti-aging" is considered a drug claim (meaning only drugs and medical devices can say they are anti-aging) so even though FDA doesn't approve cosmetic products it's illegal for them to claim anti-aging benefits unless they contain FDA approved anti-aging ingredients.

Well she attacked two things here- the price and the fragnance, and she does that always when there is any fragnance, or when the price is not worth of the products, formula that can be bought in cheaper product. I do get it, it is a luxury brand, maybe the formula is the best for the majority of people (well, we don't know as majority won't try this), but I myself love some CT make up, mascara and lipstic and eyeshadows, I didn't try any foundations, blush and primers, as I use sunscreen and well, have rosacea and atopic dermatitis , but I can tell you, and I have tried even pricier things like Zo Skin, and SkinCeuticals, that Avene Cold Cream in until I turned 35 was the best for me, and that one has just some cream base and Eau Termale of Avene.
@@josipag2185 I just clicked on this video, and I happened to have studied the formula of that cream in detail, so I was shocked to see this person say "there is nothing here, there is shea butter and fragrance". First of all, fragrance is not a bad thing. And the magic cream does not contain any added fragrance, which is what many brands use to hide many ingredients under the term fragrance. The cream uses 3 of the most precious fragrant extracts you can use on your skin : damask rose, red frangipani and magnolia. And usually they are so expensive that brands use only a hint of it, it won't irritate anybody's skin.
@@shoresofreedom
But fragrance is bad for many people. It depends of of the formula. But a lot of people prefer 0 fragnance, and some do because it smells probably luxury. Or make up. Like all those extracts and oils that for instance dr Jart has. Those things can cause allergies to all, not to meantion to atopic skin lile mine.
What I love about it is the whipped texture and luminosity of this cream. I haven’t had any problems with it, but I do not want to keep paying the $100 price tag!
I really like using this cream. I enjoy the texture and it doesn’t feel heavy for me at all. I like the look it gives my skin and also that it sits very well under make up. I know it’s nothing special but I still love it!
I also use it as my morning moisturizer under make up. I wish it didn't have fragrance but I love the consistency (not too light and not too heavy), I pile my sunscreen on top of it, then my make up and I love how it looks. I do not use anything else from her skincare line however I love her make up.
I don't mind spending much money on a product i like. There are a lot of people who spend their money on really bad things like drugs. Then i rather spend my money on a CT cream

Right after the video was a Charlotte Tilbury ad for her magic elixir. It’s the hype Dr Dray. She is a talented makeup artist, but her advertising makes you believe this is a miracle you must buy. It may be her English accent. I never purchased her products because they are incredibly expensive. Love you.
Her makeup is good and some is reasonable price. Depends what you get her skincare is basic and overpriced though. Her makeup can be expensive but it lasts forever like 2 years.
Good lord I love when u expose these brands and help us save our hard earned $$$ and precious skin!!!!!
I didn’t click away haha, but I’m one of those that love this product! I only use it on days that I wear makeup - two or three days a week. I’m wary of it due to the fragrance as you mentioned. But the texture really compliments my dry/normal skin and my makeup looks so incredibly glowy over the top. People always comment on my skin when I wear it. But I definitely dont view it as skincare like my obagi hydrate! I think of it as cosmetic/a primer - and a naughty fragranced one at that! However another thing I love is that a tiny bit goes such a long way. It’s my personal treat product 😊 call it a guilty pleasure if you will! [this is the only CT product i own]
I will forever enjoy your sense of humor and honesty! Thank you for being YOU!

Thank Dr. Dray for affordable and sensible skin care reviews and recommendations!
When using tretinoin please don't put it before or after any type of oils. If you want to decrease irritation put a basic moisturizer first. If you use a oil, tretinoin will not penetrate.

"Charlotte Tilbury does not have your back, she has your money!" LOL! I love this! :D I could never justify spending $100 on one skin care product. CeraVe all the way! :-)
This is such an educational video. Knowledge is power. Thanks for the wealth of info Dr. Dray!
I used it before, around 4 years ago I think. I used to have a bit of a dry skin at that time and it's a bit of a texture thing, it just feels nice for someone with a drier skin. It's sold as a perfect primer and that is why I bought it back then. It did work for that of course. Nothing was that magic, but sometimes you choose things for the experience rather than just the result. You'll be happy to hear that now I mostly use on my clients the Cerave lotion as a makeup primer and they all love it 😅
I don’t know why Cerave literally soaks into my dry skin and disappears leaving me with nothing. I don’t want to spend a ton but for some reason my skin doesn’t work with Cerave products 😕

Fragrance is a huge no-no for me but I don't mind paying $70 for a moisturizer if it is good.

I’ve been waiting for this video!! I’m a sucker for nice packaging but all the “high end” moisturisers have so much fragrance. Thanks to dr.dray I’m not wasting my money on magic cream or tatcha
Please don’t hate me! But this works beautifully as a makeup primer. I love how it provides the skin with a bouncy cushion-effect that really smooths out fine lines and surface dryness to allow for makeup to look and wear fabulously. I don’t know of anyone who uses this strictly as skincare- it’s origin and, to my knowledge, cult use is for is nourishing priming qualities. It even makes more “matte” foundations appear skin-like. That said, I wouldn’t use this on clients who have sensitive or broken skin as it does have a moderate amount of fragrance and noticeable scent. There are certainly alternatives out there, but for those who are looking for a dewy and supple skin effect and love the feeling of luxury, there is a reason, beyond stellar marketing, that this is a cult favorite! 💖💖💖
It's really helpful seeing the ingredients names listed on the video!

Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream - lovely rich hydration but heavily perfumed. My skin did well with it at first but started to look ruddy and irritated after a few weeks. Stopped using it = skin went back to normal.
I broke out from the water cream and silk canvas primer. Tatcha destroys their beautiful products with fragrance unfortunately.

Thank you Dr.Dre. This WAS next on my list of skincare must haves.
Thank you for the review. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new e.l.f. skincare products. Specifically the superhydrate moisturizer and the holy hydration face cream (fragrance free)
My skin changed for the better when I stopped spending tons of money on this kind of stuff and stuck to a $6 tub of Vanicream and a spf.
jennifer izett SAME! I’m so puzzled by what kept me spending such a fortune on complete crap for so many years. I literally roll my eyes & dart through that section of all department stores now.
yea, i second CeraVe in the tub (not the others) as it was the best ever cream I have used. Feeling exclusive that many other people cannot afford spending so much money on a cream that isn't that great is the only appeal - vanity.
Really? My skin got so much better ever since I started to invest more into skincare instead of using just basic moisturizer. And I found that more expensive products definitely make a difference.
The simplest products always seem to work the best
