The Country of China is now the leader in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting, they took over where the time of Ivan Abajiev of Bulgaria and the Soviet Union were prominent. Now they have incorporated ideas from American lifters of the 50's, Bulgaria, Soviet Union, and their own, into one awesome program.

Couple that with a pool of 1.3 billion people to choose from and you have 5 men's world champions and 5 women's world champions this year.

I was shocked when coach said their athletes train with the barbell only for one year

This video really motivates me. I thought that this boy will easily jump over 3 meters. When I started to train my standing long jump was 180 and after a year of training I can jump 302 and I am only 17.

When you have to take 6 months to train with a wooden stick and in the crossfit class you go with the bar loaded after 15 minutes of technic
    Unbelievable

    • @Scarsofevil

I remember when I first learned to squat, it was 3 months of just the bar. There's no point in rushing these things if you think about the long term. Slow, steady, and consistent wins the race.

this is why I don't do this stupid crossfit! And actually I have been training for a few months with only empty bar (+ plus normal strength training) and people looked me like at the idiot but after 6 months when my technique has improoved they understood that I was right here and they just wasted 6 months...

@@federicocarnebale I mean ones a national program run by the government and taught by world winning coaches... the other is a recreational fitness class that members pay for, and taught by those with a qualification that isn't exactly world renowed. Can't really compare them man

@@Scarsofevil thats a really bad idea LOL squats are so incredibly simple compared to the CJ and snatch, there's no need to do that. Your technique changes under load as well, in athletes who don't specifically train for it, their 33% 1rm squat will look vastl different then their 1rm. You need to train under load to perfect form. Also training under load will obviously increase your development instead of just wasting your time doing pointless reps with 45 lb for 3 months. Finally, for children, 45lb bar is probably incredibly difficult to do a snatch with. However with a squat, most somewhat healthy adult males can prob do 75-135 lb for a few reps on day, the barrier to entry is much lower

It's not you, when I visited a sports university in Korea there were students who was on the team because they stuck with it since they were kids. Some of them told me they wished they chosen something different because if you're not the best in weightlifting you become either become a crossfit coach or do something else. Many hobbyists think weightlifting is the best thing ever but they never experienced it as a legitimate athlete.
