Yeahhhh I did ofcourse consider getting that monitor but it's much smaller then the monitor I already have.. IF it would have has an internal battery I'd order it :)

Following this with interest. A simple folded black card shroud around three sides of the FrSky screen would remove the glare at the angle the tx is held at, and would then be comparable with your other monitor. It's a pity they didn't include something similar. Other providers in the past have had a foldout approach.

Yes.. to be clear: the glare didn't bother Me.. it mostly bothered my camera...
I'm also glad Frsky didn't do what Flysky did with the PL18: a cheap ass plastick ugly sunshield :)

I think that the concept is really interesting as it allows the pilot to just focus on the transmitter (and the airplane, obviously), instead of messing around with a lot of additional equipment and cabling. However, the OSD is really simplistic, and I would love to have some more information (e.g. on the altitude, etc.).
I wonder how such a setup compares to a solution with the SIYI MK15 FPV (which I am currently working on), as the SIYI set is coming at 700-800€ (depending if you want HDMI), while only the X20HD transmitter is around 700€.
Especially for drones (and VTOL hybrid UAVs), the non-centring thrust gimbal is somewhat tricky...
With the ideal firmware in the radio, the display will simply show the OSD that is setup in the drone.. So ultimately you would then have 100% control over what is and isn't shown :)
Having said that: I don't know if the radio's processor would be able to handle that :$ For now I think Frsky has chosen a (indeed) very simple setup with the intend to show the FPV video and not much more...
Hey, Thank you for the video. I'm getting mine next Monday or may be even sooner. Will open it and see if it has any upgrade port for vtx and also an sd card slot for upating itself to me the module inside this is same as the new skyvision monitor that they launched
I'm still planning to do "that" video but haven't gotten around to it.. I also wonder if I can show what near that HDMI out as I don't know how to take the screen apart :P

Haha you ARE correct.. the radio doesn't record DVR's.. And yep I got me this X20HD because I like gatgets & wanted to test the setup..
But in reality I use the X20S most of the time :$

Great review of the Tandem HD 20S. Love the concept where I may wish to fly without extra gear (goggles to pack) - i.e. all in one solution. Hopefully, RadioMaster can come up with something like this since the firmware would likely be opensource.

I have no idea if RM has plans towards something like this.. You would Need to have the screen above the sticks.. other ways around would not really work well..
But to be honest: I do have the latest (and most $$) TX16S but the build quality is nowhere near this Frsky radio
Sir what can you tell me about such a 3 in 1 transmitter?
If the control range is more than 60 kilo meters, which supports Pixhawk, I can connect my smartphone to that transmitter and see all the data or camera live on my screen.😶
What 3 in 1 transmitter? This is a Tandem radio.. (tandem as in Two) and it is certainly not a multi-protocol setup.
I don't really know the maximum range, but it's not 60KM.

Very different systems. The Skyroid is more aimed at autonomous systems / pixhawk use.
Yes the X20 ofcourse has telemetry and can be used with Pixhawk (most any radio system can)
I can’t figure out how to get my radio to show the fpv screen. Could you maybe link a video of how to set it up to be able to receive video. I couldn’t find one.
I haven't seen video's eighter.. I think the first step would be to make sure you are on the latest firmware for the radio AND the video-subsystem..
beyond that I just randomly try things until I get a picture :P

Howdy :) wel basically all their modern 2.4Ghz and 900Mhz can be used with the Tandem radio's. From looking at their site that would be the R9 MX receiver for long-range.
I should add that I don't use it myself (I use Crossfire & ELRS most times)

Oh, and what if you are a freestyler? For me DJI is on the rock-bottem of my wishlist as freestyle fpv-pilot. Basically, I am not interested in DJI.
The DJI setup is great :) but I would at least want to use HDzero as a replacement for analogue setups.. And as mention: for FPF airplanes
