Just purchased one yesterday one the PNW website. It’s already in transit and should be here in 2 days. I can’t wait to add this to my hard tail. I’ve done my research and feel super confident in the product I’ll be receiving.
It seems like you need to have the post fully extended to know where to cut your cable (the height dictates how long your cable should be) . But how do you extend it (mine looks compressed out of the box) without installing the cables to lever?
I figured it out. Pull the dust cover thing off, and then use plyers and gently push down where the cable will sit. That will extend the post so you know where to put it in your frame, and then you'll know how long your cable should be.
Hey Michael, that is definitely an oversight on our part. If you're looking for helpful tips in setting your dropper height or are trying to figure out which travel length of dropper post you need, we recommend starting with the "How to Size a Dropper Post" article on our website. It has helpful tips for solving both questions: www.pnwcomponents.com/blogs/news/how-to-size-a-dropper-post
Just finished my install. For anyone that might have this seat adjustment question in the future, my post came about halfway compressed. For most riders, the seat post will be seated as low as possible. To be sure you can completely install and decompress the seat post. Adjust as needed then go back and trim your cables accordingly.

Why do you have tape over the seattube cutout? to prevent dirt ingress?

At the beginning they said we'll adjust the seat height at the end but they never did

I was looking for that too. Mostly wondering if the post is at max height already so I can adjust before tying down my cables
