- Hi friends!! Just wanted to film a short video updating you all on what’s been going on with me and some plans for the channel. Hopefully I’ll be back to regular videos next week.

I will be interested to see how you might pivot, in terms of video production. It is rare for someone to have the job title "anthropologist," so most anthropologists are working under a different name, although guided by the anthropological perspective. I have been really impressed by how you've chosen to grow your channel, and keep your focus; so, I know your new offerings will retain the same authenticity, utility value, and educational emphasis.
I haven't really used anyone's Community tab yet, so thanks for mentioning that; I will have to try participating in that way. Until a few weeks ago, I'd never searched for anything within UA-cam that wasn't music. The only other videos I'd watch were in the "how to" category, which I'd find through a traditional search engine, and generally being limited to how to play a particular riff on guitar, or how to achieve a particular effect/use a particular tool within a particular piece of software. In almost all cases, I would overwhelmingly prefer to read a text than watch a video, unless there is some specific reason that seeing some visually makes it faster for me to learn.
Anyway, your channel is one of the very few that has given me reason to believe that I might be able to work within UA-cam to do something other than produce short teasers to drive people to a Google Classroom. So, good work, so far, and looking forward to seeing your new developments!
