Thanks for the video! We purchased a 2022 Sol Horizon Rover and your videos are helping us tremendously. Keep up the great work and looking forward to your next one!
We had been considering a MaxxAir in the bedroom, but ended up just doing a second ac. May put one above vent over the kitchen, but haven't tried that project just yet. Thanks for sharing!! Saving this for when we do.
I only placed a small amount of new sealant around the tops of the roof vent fan tabs after I removed the factory installed roof sealant. It wasn't captured - I got busy and forgot to film it - on camera since only a small dab of new sealant was placed on the top of each of roof vent tabs. It was more belt and suspenders for my particular situation - probably not required - but that's just how I am better safe than sorry.
The new cover has several benefits. It allows you to open the vent when going down the road to help get fresh air in the RV without having to worry about rain getting in or the wind damaging the roof vent cover - great on hot days when towing in warm climates. Also, when you’re storing the RV or you’re at a campsite you can open the roof vent cover and allow air circulation without worrying about rain or critters getting in. I distinctly remember being able to open the roof vent with the fan on while cooking inside the RV when it was raining outside - we could cook and vent the trailer without worrying about rain coming in. Many uses for the outer cover. I put them on both of our RV’s when we owned them.

Congratulations!!! When do you get delivery of your Sol Horizon?
@@CouchPotatoCamping we picked it up on January 5th and can’t wait for the warmer weather (we live outside of Philadelphia).

What benefit does the new cover provide over the old one? Thanks.

Did it come with brackets if you’re fan isn’t a max air fan?
This particular vent cover is specifically designed for the MaxxAir vent. I can’t say for certain if it will fit other brands.
