I think a video that gets down to the real stuff of staying in a motorhome (the poo box!) is a sign of a quality channel! Well done for doing this. I'm particularly impressed with Andrew's very thorough aftercare procedure with the anti bac! I'm now going to scrutinize my other half's poo disposal procedure and see if it matches up to yours. I think I already know the answer and will direct him to watch this carefully! Thanks 🙂
😂😂😂thanks Vanessa, amazing how poo 💩 can bring us all together 😂 get hubby to watch it too, so we get even more views, even more money so closer to UA-cam gazillionaire status 😂 Thanks for watching 👀 (twice🤪) A, J & 🐶
We’ve been using Solbio for over a year, in both the flush and the toilet. It’s really easy to dispense and it’s only one thing to carry. Not as effective as Thetford from a smell perspective. However we fitted the Thetford extractor fan, it’s a fairly easy DIY project. It works great expels air from the cassette through a charcoal filter and expels under the floor. It’s designed so you don’t need to use chemicals, although we think that’s a poo to far……there’s a couple of videos on UA-cam showing how it’s done.
We have a caravan although we are not full timers when we do go away a lot of the time we like using off grid sites which usually just have a tap, rubbish/ recycling points and an Elson point. So we use our onboard facilities to the max. I have never had a problem emptying the loo, I use a green fluid in the flush as well as the cassette. I noticed your gloves look a bit cumbersome. In the van I have the bog box which I put under the van when we set up. In this box is a box of disposable gloves, green fluid, measuring jug, silicone spray and empty 2 litre bottle along with pink watering can for filling flush tank. The beauty of using off grid CL’s most allow you to pipe gray water into the hedge so a lot of the time the wastemaster gets left at home.
Hi Bob, thanks for this, I like the idea of a “bog box” although I don’t have the space so pack everything around the gaps in the back where the cassette fits. My gloves are a little cumbersome (they are an old pair of armoured motorbike gloves!) but are warmer than latex and I wear them all the time when setting up on site, they go through the washing machine too! Thanks for watching and engaging with us, we love it when we get comments and ideas, a rarity on our small channel with small following. We had a caravan years ago (2007) and loved it, although we were never off grid with it. We did take it to Lapland though, amazing! Happy camping! Andrew, Jane & Buddy 🐶
Thanks for one ring and watching! The anti bac is great, I even spray my legs if I’ve visited the elsan in shorts ! 🩳 Let us know how you get on when you try the chemical, or if you find anything better👍 Happy travels! Andrew, Jane & Buddy
😂great one. Our new Moho has a smaller than usual cassette😩. So off grid we end up having to empty daily and carry a spare. Cassette in the UK- not needed in the EU of course
@@mikeyfelley well Mikey, as I’m sure you can imagine, we, Eurosully, mega UA-cam famous gazillionaires, do not do either smelly 👃 or big jobbies 💩 just dainty little ones that smell of roses 🌹 If we were to, we would use Elsan Organic Green (EBay item 124832797873) after already trying lots of the others. Nice film very good advice and is funny I will watch your channel...... We've used the toilet to it fully, but we've just got Bivvy Loo which is a collapsible toilet where you put the black bag inside with the powder and then just tie it up and dispose of it properly later on. Does anybody else use these? I think it might be an efficient way to stop the need for chemicals. You get a powder with the Bivvy. That way it will be easy to clean the cassette. Has anybody else used a Bivvy we have not yet were just about too?
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated. Not seen the bivvy loo, maybe you could do a vlog on it? What sort of capacity (ie how many days to empty?) is it? Regards Andrew, Jane & Buddy 🐶
Hi Andy I’m also from Lancashire. I’ve just started to use Solbio got on special offer from Motorhome Matt at the Manchester show last week. Personally I don’t mind cleaning the toilet and have do so for over 20 years with 2 caravans and now a motorhome (we’ve still got the caravans, long story 😮) great tip about the spray but I always use latex gloves acquired from my previous job (now retired). If I’m desperate I would poo but usually we are on site so not really a problem to us but if we eventually go off grid you never know. 💩
Nice to hear from a fellow “Lancashire Lad”, and I’ll give Solbio a try at some point (only when I find it in a sale!) We have found we are more and more off grid both hear and abroad (hence a big solar/lithium upgrade) you should give it a try, some stunning (and official) places to stay. Thanks for watching all about our poo 💩 😂😂😂 Regards Andrew, Jane & Buddy 🐶
Haha love this it is fine if you do it properly but I’ve been to sites waiting to use the disposal unit and it’s obvious that some folks don’t use chemicals. I felt very queezy as the smell took over a whole car park 🤢

The best thing is fit a SOG then you don't need any chemicals and takes away any smells when using the toilet !
