In SaaS environment, the Cloud Provider Manages all of the following 1. Applications 2. Data 3. Runtime 4. Middleware 5. OS 6. Virtualization 7. Servers 8. Storage 9. Networking In SaaS environment, you are given access to use Cloud Providers application with limited access to customize the application to your business needs. You will not have access to administrate, manage etc, the underlying Platform, viz the OS and anything below it. In PaaS environment, the Cloud Provided Manages the following 1. Runtime 2. Middleware 3. OS 4. Virtualization 5. Servers 6. Storage 7. Networking While the Cloud Consumer manages the following 1. Applications 2. Data In PaaS, the Cloud Provider provides you an instance of a server with just the OS installed. You would need to install the required applications and their corresponding data.
Saas as the name suggest Software as a service where you get to use an application or software by a cloud vendor kver the web. So you dont need any setup simply browse and use the the software best example is your GMAIL account. Platform as a service (Paas) on the other hand is a form of service where a cloud vendor gives hou a platform on cloud to develop your own applications.
