What kind of pressure is being applied with the firing hand?

I have a question. I don't understand why when you have settled the rifle on the bag and are lined up you don't close the bolt before getting in the scope? I see your hand on the grip then you remove it after your cross hairs are on to cycle the bolt which seems like a wasted motion IMHO. Is there a specific reason that you would share?

You should be on target before you get ready to shoot. It is a safety concern, and depending on the RO, you could be disqualified from a match depending on how they feel about "know your target."

It was very hard to endure his speech pattern of injecting "go ahead and..." before every verb.
