MAY 30, 2024: Aslan and his three siblings were born in a farm bucket, and sadly seem to have lost their mama a few days ago. Today, Aslan somehow managed to crawl out of the bucket and over numerous obstacles, to find help. When his wonderful property owner heard him crying, she searched for his siblings and called us.
They were hypothermic, dehydrated, emaciated and lethargic, but all four have a chance now, thanks to their brave, tiny brother, Aslan. ❤️
Names:
Liza - grey girl
Aslan - panther hero kitten
Quince - tiny ginger boy
Farkleberry - green collar ginger boy
As of this afternoon, Liza and Farkleberry are looking pretty good. Aslan was exposed to the cold longer than his siblings, and needs all of your POTP, good energy and love sent his way. Quince is the tiniest, and is showing some concerning signs.
Regardless of the outcome, all four are now warm, safe and comfortable, with full bellies, snuggling with their SnuggleMom in the Mod Pod.

APR 23, 2024: Hoshi gave birth for the last time, to five beautiful, healthy kittens! Mom and babies are doing great, although we are monitoring Hoshi closely for potential mastitis. We just HAD to go with a donut theme, given Hoshi's deep love for her emotional support donut:

Hoshi is the first pregnant cat to show up at our Happy Forest feral colony since late 2020. Happily, she has type A blood, which means there's no risk of neonatal isoerythrolysis - whew! We're so grateful to our amazing team of Happy Forest volunteers who have done SUCH an outstanding job socializing her, so we all get to enjoy a less stressful final pregnancy and birth! 💗
We livestream our rescued cats, 24 hours a day, uncensored, to raise awareness about the realities of cat overpopulation in a way that inspires compassion. Watching Hoshi give birth for the last time is a great way for parents and kids to experience the “miracle of birth” without letting their own pets give birth and further contributing to overpopulation.
We first started TNR at our Happy Forest feral colony in 2015. 426 cats later, we have the colony very well stabilized and are helping them age as gracefully as possible. When new kitties like Hoshi show up, we do maintenance TNR to keep the colony from growing again.
