4 years has passed since I bought my Canon 60D (my first camera) but still remember how eager I was before owning it. To me this video is more than a tutorial, it's like a spiritual message taking me to photography, and of course, in a very "different perspective". Much appreciated for creating this beautiful video to promote both Canon 60D and my country Vietnam!
2021 and I still loving my 60D. Before I got mine, i've watched this video a 100 times, and still watching. Like someone said on the coments below, "Is more than a tutorial, it´s like a spiritual message..."
2023 and got a pre-owned 60D to use as a beginner in photography. This video really did show me a new perspective, there's so many things to do with this camera. It can tell a lot of different stories with all its modes, menus and functions. Thank you for this amazing and video, you did a great work!!!
I have canon 60D but i dont know why it says camera record stopped automatically after few seconds what is that reason? Sorry if i am asking noob question
Hello Mike Miller.... is the 60d a good buy or i should go for better...heard it doesn’t have good autofocus... and i need it for fast paced videos and some talking head... What do u think?
I might as well ask... I just got the 60D passed down to me. I know how to get it to make amazing, crisp photos. But my videos are... Let's call it lacking. There's noise in distant shadows/trees and it feels like there are troubles with contrast. I'm using 17-55 f/2.8 lens, ISO is kept low, shutter speed is at 2x the framerate. Do I need a polarization filter? Maybe an ND one?
this video made me buy my Canon 60D. it was such a great camera. every time I see this video it makes me feel good because I was so impressed with the movie.
Great job, Jay and team. This video convinced me to retire my XL2 and get the 60D in 2010. Now, it’s 2020 and I’ve moved on to the 5D4, R, and am now waiting for my R5 to ship. Thank you, Jay. Your work was a pivotal piece that has influenced my career.
I love the narrator's HAL 9000 voice. Let me put it this way, Mr. Amor. The 60D series is the most reliable camera ever made. No 60D camera has ever made a mistake or distorted an image.. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error.
Love that video, thats how my real story with photography started, bought 70D, and now after 7 years 90D. I come back to this video for nostalgic motivation.
For anyone who suggests that the 60D is less than capable of capturing professional quality images and video... Absolutely breathtaking. Can't wait to photo-document Vietnam with my 60D!!!
hum his voice, his appearance , and the Well written script. Most amazing clip i have ever seen. For those of you wonder, those scenes were shot in Northern Vietnam. I believe its called SAPA. Very nice place to visit.
Went to rural Vietnam for a trip. Surprising lack of mosquitoes and flies (compared to other rural areas in various countries I have visited). Cool stuff.
This is the video that got me to buy a 60d and a motorcycle. 2020 and I'm still riding and taking photos on my 60d! Great camera! Not perfect, but definitely great for it's price point.
Thank you so much for making this. I have a cannon 60d and never really understood it's potentials as I bought it with no user manual. I'm now keen to go on adventures and take this baby with me 😎
I love mine great still photo and video capabilities. I paid 986.00 for my 60d with a kit lens. You can by a 60d kit for 880.00 on amazon so still worth it imo. check out my channel and videos most shot on 60d. subscribe if you like
Holy shit, this video is perfect in so many ways! 1) He looks like a model. 2) Amazing voice. 3) Awesome looking video 4) Why didn't Canon hire him to make their promo videos?
Very Nicely done, Had to view and review. The ambiance of this clip draws one in so that focusing on the educational aspect of this video, is a bit more challenging .Love, love, love the variety of angles at which the clip was shot. Thanks for the education!
haha, I’m always coming back and re-watching this video many times when looking for inspiration about why I fell in love with photography for the first time. This video reignites my passion. Truly an inspiring video.
Nicely shot ad, but.... Dear Canon Co., if you are doing a promo on a specific camera, why would you shoot with different camera models and not the featured camera solely?...
Because this is a promo video, specifically a training video, not a sample video. There is nothing wrong with filming what is essentially an advertisement for the camera with other cameras. They could use professional cinema cameras for all I care, as they simply need to showcase the camera, not prove its functionality. However, they should also provide sample films made with footage solely from the camera so consumers can see the video capabilities of the camera.
I've had this camera now for around a year and I must say, best buy I've ever made. Seriously am loving the camera. For 730 euro it was quite cheap to. Even with the 70D comming up. I still stay with this camera, because it has everything I ever wanted in a camera.
nope, 600D its T3i, almost the same in most regards, but 60D its partially weather sealed, has a professional control arrangement and it has an improved shutter that will allow for faster burst and the buffer will last about 3x before overflows. finally, all 9 AF points in 60D are crosspoints, while 600D has 9 AF points but 8/9 are regular vertical points and only the center one is crosspoint. Nevertheless, despite all the 60D advantages, in practice they have same 18mpx CMOS sensor, same Digic4 processor, same image quality, same noise tolerance, and 600D will be about as good for 95% of the cases for both shooting photo and video. The only real life drawback is for action photography, in which 60D is really an improvement, being way faster and having a much bigger buffer (600D in burst mode will overflow after something like 6 shots or 2 secs, while 60D will last about 16 shots or 3 seconds) but you can work around the 600D limited buffer by shooting burst in jpeg instead of raw. 600D/T3i it is still a good entry level camera and since it was such a best seller during so much time, there are tons of used cameras with less than 20.000 shots which is very little use. On the other hand, since 60D was more of a semi-pro body, it was less sold and many users gave these cameras a fair good use, so it is a little more common to find 60D with more than 60.000 shots. That's why its better to look for 600D/T3i and if burst is a problem, then go for 700D/T5i which is a T3i but with touchscreen, improved buffer and continuous AF for video Edit: T5i has a small buffer pretty much like T3i, but it has better burst speed, so if shooting in jpeg you get about 5 pics/sec. 60D is nevertheless about same price as t5i so it is a matter of what use do you aim at. if it is Photo then pic 60D, if it is video pic T5i
I just got this camera, and I am learning how to use it. I am normally a nikon girl, but this with the beast of a 70-200mm lens, I couldn't pass it up. This is a fantastic video, absolutely beautiful.
