Unfortunately, these are not of great quality. Most of the celebrities don't seem to either know what they're doing, or they're simply advertising products they're paid to advertise.
I'm genuinely interested to see how well the next generation will age, given what we now know about retinol and other skincare ingredients. Will there be lots of 50-something people walking around with baby soft, unlined skin?
Theres a lot of people who are in their 50s and 60s now who have been using retin a since their teens. Keeps 80% of wrinkles at bay but sagging happens regardless.
Most aging is determined by your genes more than anything else, though obviously good skincare helps somewhat. There have always been people who have looked young for their age, my mother is in her 60s and has always looked about a decade younger than her actual age. She's never had a skincare routine (she also never wore heavy makeup and always claimed she could feel nail polish when it was on her nails and feel makeup on her skin lol) till recently when I bought her some serums for Christmas and she'll use them up but she hardly ever repurchases stuff like that herself lmao. Her routine to this day consists of a cheap makeup wipe and either the l'oreal revitalift cream or a facial oil.
Brava!! I am a TRUE skin care junkie and the fact that she uses Tretinoin ( i could tell right away), Vit C, Hyaluronic acid, Lip mask made me super happy!
She is is gorgeous! Probably one of the first ones I’ve seen with someone using Drunk Elephant, which is honestly one of my favorite skincare brands 💜💖💙♥️
Gabriela Vargas we truly don’t and we could have cut this in the edit, but instead we’d rather be 100% transparent with our audience in these routines!
@MB face of Maybelline means she works for Maybelline but i think some people are getting it in wrong way & thinking that comment means she wears too much makeup that's why she said "she was born with it"
This is one of the most confused skincare routines I’ve seen - Makeup wipes after a first cleanse? Treatment after moisturisers? Water-based serums after emollient creams? Pure retinol with vitamin C at night?!
guxxi i know, I feel really confused because she had a really good skin or that seems... My reaction when she was putting hyaluronic acid while she mixed with another powerful thing after she put a mix between Vitamic C and a cocktail got me like nuts!!!! I don’t know why her skin do not start to burn!
The only problem with this routine is the tea tree oil. And the vit-c serum prolly would work better applied first (less oxidation). The rest is just fab.
I found these tips helpful and Emily was enthusiastic and thoughtful in describing each product. However, I think a disclaimer is always a good idea to throw in there when using prescription treatments. Younger viewers, especially those struggling with skin concerns, are often impressionable and may think this is a one and done solution. Language is key when encouraging the use of prescription treatments as it is still a medical product. It is a good idea to recommend consulting a dermatologist or doctor in a related medical field first.
I think the serum should go on before the rosehip oil for best penetration. Thinnest to thickest. So HA serum, retinol cream , and then oil. That being said - I love the Pai Rosehip oil.
I love that she actually goes to a dermatologist and knows all about actives! However, I think using so many strong products (tretinoin, vitamin c, tea tree oil..) at once is a bit too much? Just seems like it would just be really irritating, I think it'd be better if she alternated using the different actives on different days. Also, I use tretinoin as well and it seems like she's using too much, if she applied a lighter layer it would dry her out so much less! Also, I really hope she waits for her skin to dry before applying it, it would also lessen the drying and irritation
@@bluili1845 derms only don't recommend it BC it can really irritate or sensitize your skin - if your skin hasn't adjusted to the tret and/or the vitC. In her case there is no irritation going on, even if she's pale af, so she's fine using both together. Tret and vitC don't cancel each other out!
I have been asking my doctor about the use of Tretinoin, and she says that if I use it regularly there is a risk that I develop a resistance to antibiotics. Can someone tell me why no one is talking about this?
I think some tretinoin creams also contain an antibiotic. But mine is without! I don't think resistance to that particular antibiotic is a huge problem though.
Think the Vitamin C + Tretinoin is likely too harsh for most people and could cause the extra drying effect. Because it’s odd that tretinoin would still be extremely drying if she’s been using it for years. Also oils like Rosehip oil and tea tree oil could have chemical structures which could negate or interact with the Tretinoin, so I hope she did research before combining the oils. Because oils are just natural composites of oils plus vitamins and naturally created chemicals. Like other commentators said, she should probably do a double cleanse instead of the makeup wipes, and the drunk elephant cleanser could just be the second step product in her double cleanse.
This is one of the first Harpers Bazaar or Vogue videos where the person uses tretinoin. I thought many more celebs would and that they just weren’t showing the use of a prescription medication on these vids for legal reasons.
@emilydidonato I use Jamaican Castor Oil every night on my brows and lashes using a q-tip as well. I purchase it on amazon. It helped grow back my over plucked ‘90’s brows and gave me more lashes.
