Uh, Rob, did you forget this is a time travelling story? The order of events is just meant for drama, Carnage going back to Earth and doing stuff, he could do that for years, then time travel to the garden.
The garden is outside of time as far as we know, because all eddies can reach there from any point, this Carnage encountered Meridius at some point in his time timeline
Pretty sure the garden is at the end of time. So literally anything and everything involving Carnage could happen before this. We saw in the last issue that all the symbiotes gathered to await the heat death and that's when Meridious jumped in and killed/ took all the symbiote matter.
If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the following happend. "Meridius used the hellfire symbiote Mjölnir from the Thor Team up on Carnage from Death of the Venomverse, they went to Limbo and Carnage split in 2 and one went to the Library to get answers, the other went to see The Eventuality which brings us to Carnage VS Venom in one Story and Carnage VS Agent Anti-Venom in the other"
Where this has come from - secret wars symbiote to now is amazing but terribly confusing - what you’ve done explaining this is amazing. You are the best at what you do
I mean... Whether this is pre-cult Carnage, post-Cult Carnage or an alternative reality Carnage that never had the crisis about his own divinity - in any case he's far too obsessed with his own power and with hurting anyone who ever went up against him to _not_ attempt to go after Eddie/the King in Black. And since the Garden is comprised of all symbiote matter, that includes whatever became of Carnage in that timeline, giving him an in, the same way Eddie can hop into alternative timeline versions of himself (he actively confirms that he at the very least got close to the Eventuality). It's a bit of a WTF moment at first, but I don't mind it. Just remains to be seen what becomes of that. Definitely interesting to see a relatively straightforward conclusion utterly derailed like that. Reminds me of some videogame plots where you think you're about to face who you thought was the final boss - just to be thrown for a loop when it turns out there has been another force at play the entire time...
Honestly I actually like the god carnage arc. It’s a showcase of how carnage is no longer a symbiote nor alien but rather the literal physical manifestation of chaos and destruction itself. Chaos and destruction are two concepts that are both natural to the multiverse, no matter how many times you can delay, repel or even stop chaos but it can never be erased. It only grows stronger and stronger until it becomes unstable and threatens everything. Meridius thought that he was above everything and every symbiote but this shows that carnage isn’t a symbiote anymore, he’s become destruction in physical form, a creature that should have never been created nor made but existed anyway because of life. Knull maybe the embodiment of darkness but darkness is a subvert of destruction, you can stop darkness but you cannot stop destruction and chaos as the rank higher than it. Carnage has the strong will to flat out kill everything in the multiverse, heck the spider carnage arc is actually a foreshadowing to this. It’s a warning to everyone in marvel
I mean, Meridius was getting built up as Eddie's villain with no mention of Carnage at any point prior, so I can see why people might have feelings about that. Imagine Batman getting built up to have this massive confrontation with The Joker, only to have Ra's al Ghul kill the Joker just as the fight is getting real and effectively stealing the moment from both Batman and the Joker.
@@RukhaelI just hated them forcefully removing all his weaknesses in the most bullshittiest manner. Why should I then care? What makes carnage good is not him being God tier it's how versatile he is in a fight. Tell me now, what happens if Spider-man had to face Carnage? Is it even a fight? He can literally kill Spider-man anytime he wants now. His weakness to fire should not have been removed or if they were even kinda smart at least make him weak to hell fire...but no...if they wanted to give Eddie some competition make him fight actual cosmic entities or their servants not over power Carnage using powerful deities as doormats

If you just read or watched sth related to the current carnage myth is you would see so much more, especially the Carnage run when he went to Asgard’s Hel
I think with the current Carnage series this makes total sense, this probably takes place after that run, Carnage MUST attain godhood and well, now he's here.
I don’t think Carnage being the big bad steals Eddie’s conclusion personally. Carnage is essentially the biggest loose end from Eddie’s first endeavors. He is essentially his first sin
@RedRumOnE hard disagree, pretty much everything that people liked from venom came from eddie persona. With out eddie, the symbiot would have just been a faceless goo monster.
I kinda figured it was always gonne end like this. After Eddie bonded with Bedlam I assumed he will eventually bond with all of them including Meridius and become a Real King in Black to defeat carnage.

I think the other carnage is time displaced or he sent a clone of himself with a copied codex to learn how to become an actual god. The Librarian made a good point. What is a god with no believers? Nothing. I'm actually happy that Carnage is really taking this godhood thing seriously. A lot of characters often fall short of godhood because they don't focus on the belief aspect.

it definitely does. There are hints to Godhood in the latest Carnage comic. Old Cletus is sitting on a thrown and walks down it with a cane. Very similar to when eddie became King in Black. The next venom issue is where Carnage fights dylan (in the past) The real question is how did Carnage see The eventuality.
So there's no more Meridius to be the main antagonist of this story? Carnage hijacked that now? Poor Eddie Brocks. He can't catch a break from Venom's first offspring.

My theory is that through the death of the Venomverse when Carnage defeated Knull he essentially achieved King in Black (King In Red) Status, and essentially returned back to 616 in continuing his journey of self discovery. However the God Carnage you see here is a Carnage who’s existed at the far end of Carnage’s run where somewhere along the line he killed Dylan, met Meridius, and consumed him thus gaining access to the Garden.
No verdict yet, the end of the whole thing is gonna define its quality. But for a moment if we would say this is actually carnage carnage well... I still think he's a better written character as a psychopath pawn rather than cheap acquired god hood.

It's dope that these 2 characters have been expanded upon to this extent, but I kinda feel like since it started with spiderman he should have some type of role, some type of dormant symbiote power as well, not to the extent of Eddie, but, there's room for a team up once again🤔🤔
My personal theory is that the carnage that shows up is before his solo series or further into it cause all of em are there from different points of Eddie’s timeline. Maybe the green glowing is his god powers
