The Buster Gundam seems to have aged the best of the original GAT five, kit wise. This looks nice, but his articulation being weak is a pain in the ass. I like how unique this MS design is, very much a SEED original, but it tends to hover near the bottom of the my favorite GAT unit, though really, that isn't saying a lot since I like all three of them. It not coming with a beam is a pain, but I guess with all he has going on, it is a minor loss. The generic stickers work if you want to fanfic a little bit, such as giving poor Nicol an Archangel logo, in case you want him to... uhh, get another piano recital, I will leave it at that. I might get this some time. I have it in 1/144 No Grade, and as far as those go, it is netter than most, but we ARE talking about SEED no grades in 1/144, that is not saying it is a good kit, unless you get it cheap like I did.
Yeah, I think so too. The Buster was also the first kit to have the modern upper leg design I believe. Model kit wise I think that the blitz is my 2nd fav after the buster(though it'll probably go down after I get my hands on the new and improved strike) but purely MS wise it's also more to the bottom. It's just that the Duel's, the Aegis' and really the Strike's HG kits left some to be desired. In SRW W you can actually prevent -Kira from killing Nicol- Nicol from being an idiot and running into the Strike's humongous clearly visible sword. I went for the NG too and it's a nice little thing. I was hoping for it to be black too, but it still looks decent enough in very dark blue.
Yeah, just standing next to Buster and Duel but behind them, it does the job and can at least have a somewhat action pose, unlike many NG's that only really can do neutral poses. I love how SRW games allow you to "change history" a lot. I guess it makes sense, anyway, since battles will of course play out differently if fricken Mazinkaiser or something is around. I wonder if the Strike upgrade will have armor schneiders. I do hope so, but I know it might not. Also, if I recall, the Rouge version, luckily not some exclusive, also has the Aile Striker pack, but is for some reason slightly more expensive. maybe it has something the other doesn't, like the bazooka or something.
Arrowdodger Hehe, having a bunch of super robots flying around all of the sudden does tend to tip the scale in your favour. The new Strike will come with Armor Schneiders but the pouches are just 1 piece without an opening hatch(which is perfectly acceptable) I never noticed that the Rouge was 100 Yen more expensive =O even though I pre-ordered both. Damn, now I'm suddenly excited. I just hope it's not more expensive because they gave us extra runners to make a few pieces colour accurate(and I just killed my own excitement).
still, bandai would probably eat the cost if it was just that. it will probably be something to sell us on a recolor, like maybe some extra stickers or something. glad we are getting the knives, I am fine with not storing them. they are my favorite weapon in SEED outside of Buster Gundam's cannons
I've built and painted one of these and I really wish Bandai would do a revive of it. The Blitz design is fantastic and deserves to get a remake with better engineering. That said, I am planning a custom conversion where I use the HGCE Strike as a base
Looking at it now, the only parts where the kit shows its age is the knees and elbows. Still, if you compare the articulation of this to Transformers' articulation at the time, this is a highly articulated figure.
Yeah, the Ginn was a normal HG, but if it had come with all its weapons(instead of not even half of its arsenal, counting only the ones that it equiped in the anime) it would've been a great kit =/ I would even go for a remold but with extra runners for the weapons.
Yeah, it has a little more articulation than some of the Gundams (more knee bend, for sure) and decent color separation, but it could always be improved. Of course, if Bandai is going to make a new mold, they should make Abigorbine instead. :D

I still regret getting this kit. If only I knew it was getting an MG... I ended up painting it in an orange/blue/silver color scheme. It's as gaudy as it sounds.

Great review! I personally love Gundam Seed and I was debating whether to get the Zaft trio in High Grade or just one in Master Grade. I think I'm going to go with the trio in HG. I'm also starting model reviews myself on my Gundam channel. Anyway, thanks for the review! It was pretty much my deciding factor!

If I displayed this with it firing the anchor, I would just latch it onto another poor MS's face, arm, etc. Would look better than with the stand, a nice little diorama option.

I cannot, for the love of me, find and images or videos of the original 2003 kit. I remember the black not being black and having "painted" mine with a fucking sharpie. Now seeing the blitz being actually black here and not being able to search for the original gives me a bad case of the mandela effect, please tell me im right and the original version isnt actually black, im going crazy
You only put in the Sword Slaughter Dagger, because honestly, the Slaughter Dagger army are much worse than Kira by a moral standpoint, and won't have second thoughts killing Nicol.
They should make a revive ver of this. I really like this gundam design.

For some reason, I thought this was more expensive. 1200 yen, huh? Not bad!
My only SEED HG is GINN. It was super super cheap and it works for me, but I'd love a new GINN with all of the GINN's myriad weapons.
