All that feathering was dope!
Thanks so much for posting, and doing at a resolution that viewers can actually SEE! Great Work!
Amazing ink technique! Very good, thanks for sharing!
Excellent inking!
I came here to see you ink but got heavily interested on the song
Amazing! Where can I find this pencil art page to be printed and practice my ink? Sorry, my english is so poor!
Above all... congratulations on your work, exquisite! One question: What brush do you use?
You're pulling your feathering instead of pushing . . . interesting . . .
It is? I'm a penciller myself; I'm not an inker. But I've always naturally pulled my feathering & cross hatching instead of pushing. I thought everyone did as well
Looks great! I have a question, How works the reduction process to keep that fine detail clear in the final book? thank you...
Reproduction is much better these days than it used to be. But it's really something that you learn as you work and study what can be reproduced well. Trial and error, really. A good trick is to take a piece of (comic) art, scan it (600dpi @67%) and print it out (laser printer preferred), The printout should give you an idea of what will reproduce well, and what wont. You can also photocopy the art on a normal copy machine with a 67% reduction. 67% is what original comic art is reduced to for the final book.
Hi! How do you erase the pencils without lightening the inks? thanks!
Deon de Lange - with a standard white erase. Kneaded erasers pick up the ink.
The top of the paper says 'the kubert school'
+Steven Painter That's where the penciller bought the paper. The Kubert School sells branded art supplies at their school and online.
Cool! How do you keep such a sharp tip on your brush?
Just try to keep the brush clean. Wash/clean after use, and keep it safe (use caps). That brush may have been newer as well.
Philip Sasko The tips. For your brush tips. Huehue. Very interesting watching someone ink. Great job Jose.
+Philip Sarko He does seem to be rotating the brush a lot as he twisting the brush hairs
The music have that Star Wars vibe! Love the inking!
