Can't rap my head around that sound mat. Far cry from the Voodoo days. Our debate could go on forever.....The original Jungle sound is long gone in the pass...
The true jungle sound is still out there. It depends on who you listen to. Also, many of the jungle DJs we probably listened to in the day have jumped ship for this cash cow tik tok sounding 👽 🐸 drum & bass. None of it is considered jungle imo.
God drum n bass is so different to when I use to go out. 1998 to 2003 was my favourite era going out raving to dnb. It's changed so much since! I was more into jungle though around 1994 and 95
Funny that you say this coz Brokie was playing what sounded like 2000's jump up. And Duggs played all famous older tunes. None of it really sounded very modern lol
@@b1nary_f1nary your right. I think there was an element of Brockie playing to the crowd, who were likely more familiar with Jump up. I do find his selection questionable in recent years. I left a kool fm night in Brighton not long back when he dropped a lilly Allen jump up bootleg. I was just making a point really to someone who said they haven't listened to dnb in a while that, although there is a lot of trash out there, there is also some amazing stuff being made that pays homage to the sound you would expect to hear.
@@straightouttacornwall really!! Sounds nothing like how it was back in 98. Especially the beginning of the set. I'm not knocking Brockie or his set. I'm stating the music now is definitely different. Look at all the analogue equipment the producer's used back in 98, the hardware. Like Ed Rush and Optical. Dillinja, Goldie. They all used Hardware! Now producer's use software and plug-ins. Everything is all made to download in software now. And producer's now make tunes that run for about 3 minutes. Back in the day vinyl mixes run for 5 to 6 minutes. So every element is different today! Sound, style, mixes and production. But it's cool. I'm glad to see drum n bass still vibing!!
It's a gene of music not all sets he plays is jungle if it doesn't fit, never never forget Brockie plays what he wants anytime hands down. That's why he is number one hands down. 💯🤗😜👌👆
@@Junglist-zr4uialso probs worth mentioning this was last set of the night and jump up lends itself to that. But the uncle dugs half was insane in the part of the crowd I was in just perfect scenes
I was at this event, and left feeling flat, probably because I went to the Bournemouth jungle rave where General levy blew the place away with incredible mike skills, which makes any other jungle mc look 🗑
@@MrDogtown22 it was always better back in your day bro just because you can’t dance anymore because you’ve got a bad back from looking down on people haha
Best set I saw this year
Your bar must be set pretty low , jesus

No true bro, check out Tim Reaper, Coco Bryce, j-shadow, Fracture.... Some brilliant modern jungle kicking nowadays
@@b1nary_f1nary Yeah, these guys are still keeping it real 👌🏿💚
Uncle Dugs actually plays the most old school jungle sets out there… however this one is basically dancefloor cheesesteak with reggae influences
Uncle Dugs play alot of authentic Jungle. This set was just taylored for the Boomtown style and crowd
Large up Dugs, bad boy from day
Original OJ’s legends still moving with the times
This needs to be on soundcloud 🤘🏻

There's still amazing stuff being made. It's a renaissance period for jungle and d&B. This just ain't it.

First time i would love not to hear Mc Det because his is too loud, sound engineer was drunk? Damn Uncle Dugs bad at mixin
I'll settle for more Jungle fever, Thunder and Joy, WAX tape packs
Dead and buried this scene- over years ago 😂
Track I. D at 15.55 anyone? Sounds like a remix of an older tune but can't remember what it was called or who produced it.
Big up Dugs 🔥🔥🔥
Nice nice lads
I swear every new set of det I hear his voice is gone 😞
OMG thanks for the upload we were at Sofa Sounds at Wrong Side of the Tracks while this was on, can't be in 2 places at the same time
Haha so were we!!! That was an awesome set too
That’s the problem at Boomtown, too much good stuff going off at the same time 😂
Sofa sound was on Saturday, this was Friday night? Haha

Are you a gangsta girl 😮
That crowd sucks, along with Det. Pack it in
Crowd sucks but,
Why you say that about MC Det?
Dett needs to retire , quit while your just about ahead.
Enjoy the rest of your life with ya slippers on chilling at home
If jump up was a bit faster it would sound wee bit better bring back the proper dnb
