  • In this video we will talk about gastric cancer.
Gastric cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the lining of the stomach.
Risk factors for gastric cancer include a diet high in salted, smoked, and pickled foods, a history of Helicobacter pylori infection, chronic gastritis, pernicious anemia, smoking, and a family history of gastric cancer.
Symptoms of gastric cancer include indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, unintentional weight loss, and fatigue.
Diagnostic tests for gastric cancer include endoscopy, upper gastrointestinal series, stool test, blood tests, and biopsy.
Precancerous lesions in the stomach are abnormal changes in the cells of the stomach lining that can potentially develop into stomach cancer over time. The most common types of precancerous lesions are gastric atrophy and intestinal metaplasia.
Stomach cancer can be classified based on the location of the tumor in the stomach or the histological type of the tumor.
