Monday in January which is the Martin Luther King Holiday which is the official end of the Holiday Season. When Super Bowl Sunday was the last Sunday in January that used to be the official end of the Holiday season. I

Back at my high school we have a tradition; only a senior gets the woodslap part, though the part may be small, the woodslap part is so satisfying to play and hear that it makes up for it's small size tenfold.
@@evangillespie3267 If the wood slap isn't in pieces by the end of the concert from the numerous times during practice where it was slapped as hard as it can possibly be slapped, then I don't think the song is being played right lol Ideally, during the final slap of the song it should just collapse into dust on the floor for audience satisfaction

This is and always will be my favorite Christmas song we played in band because it not only sounds good, but is also really fun to play, despite how difficult some rhythms are.
Take it way under tempo when you're practicing! Like, if you can play it at 90 bpm relatively okay, practice it at 70 bpm and make sure you get everything really clear and then start slowly increasing the tempo. Also, focus on the downbeats. It's relatively straightforward, so just try to land on the downbeats and follow the phrase :)
Hey, I’m playing flute 2, too! I would suggest using this app on your computer or phone called flat and basically you copy and paste your entire music on this app and then it plays it for you.

Our band director held a raffle to get one of the parents to conduct for us during this song, and she was just having fun conducting and was conducting based on what we were playing, and the kid with the slap stick jumped up when hitting it.
