A-Trak is a great example of someone evolving their style with the tech. I'm pretty sure he still prefers scratching with turntables but his versatility is a testament to his skill.
Sure, but carrying around cases of vinyl vs a few thumb drives is a huge incentive to go digital.
Facts 🔥
A-Trak is the true definition of a DJ
This guy is a legend.
The possibilities are endless for a DJ once you get the hang of it.
I’m watching this as though I’ll be able to execute any of this by my gig tomorrow night 😅
None of what he did was hard 😮
@@DJ_ALEXWITTEActually everything he did was extremely hard. The fact that he’s so humble about it, is what makes him so awesome. All of us DJs should take that as a lesson. Always be humble.
Still trying to figure out 20 years later who made the Basement Jaxx Fly Life Baltimore Club remix…
World champion still on the mix ! ❤
I love this series! thanks for the a-trak episode 🙏🏼
We got you!
This man is one of the greatest
I love A-Trak! What a legend! Brilliant and informative video! Thanks DJ Mag!
Still can't get over his b2b set with Derrick carter at beyond wonderland 💚
A-track is legend!!
A-Trak, Craze and even Jazzy Jeff definiitely stand out above the rest of HipHop DJs who adopted new tools and adapted their craft to new markets and environments, despite their vinyl and scratch background. On the other hand, I kinda prefer the sets A-Trak was doing with turntables... like the ones at The Do Over for example. IMHO the Pioneer setups sounds too artificial or mechanical, I get the trend nowadays is producing live, but to me all the buttons and FX kinda kill the organic way of DJing and turn it into a mechanical effectist thing, where it's not only about buttons and the latest gear and technology but more about great music the DJs took their time to dig and break in and their own cutting, mixing and blending skill. No need for excessive use of FXs when you have the skills to work the instrument. It's like comparing a live performing producer who relies on machines with a real jazz musician who dominated the instrument for decades and only has his hands, skills and musicality, no need for flashy stuff, just FEEEL!
Той винаги е на върха, много е добър.
И за това го харесвам и прави музика която обичам 😅😅
Saw him in the early 2000's live cutting over an Al Di Meola record, scratching perfectly with the guitar solo. The dude is a legend.
A-Trak is the best
Finally more of this series
Thanks A-Trak, very dope video
This guy is a living legend!
Been following the A man since the Summit VHS tape back in like 1997 or 1998, saw him live doing house sounds and scratching in Chicago maybe 10 years ago or so and I have to be honest he’s got so much skill but this example of 2024 button pushing just makes him look like every other generic hands-in-air DJ today. I’m really surprised he isn’t incorporating Rane’s motorized platters or something with his digital sets and adding his A Trak flare to things. I could never do the vinyl and scratch tricks and routines even close to him, but the button pushing and cue points I can do in my basement, pretty easy actually.
Totally agree….
An actual Legend…!
That was so cool
I love his old vinyl (scratch) routines...
I enjoy watching A-Trak, DJing or Making Beat
You are the chosen one 😮
GOAT
🔥🔥🔥
A trak on tha trak
heads will roll baby!
So sick, thank u A-Trak
Que vídeo maravilhoso. Obrigado. Fiquei muito impressionado também como os botões são projetados para aguentar porrada.
fly life extra - spiller!!
🐐
Only thing i really hate on Pioneer CDJs is the sync cables (connecting each other) and the quantize feature....Theres no need to beatmaching anymore.....No fones also....A-Track is one the coolest guys as a turntablism world and also as a DJ no doubt about it
DJM-A 9 or DJM V10🤔 I like both really !!! In any case on this demo the material is well represented !!! Good and fire 👍
Is there a way to do what he starts to explains at 3:11 on a controller with Serato? (A Rane four)
I would appreciate your answers
What effect is it from 8.35, funky that little 10 15 seconds why hes doing it
A Train still the man
I love Trizzy because I can do most of what he does so I get it 😏
He does not get enough credit. Seen him numerous times and always impressed with his sets. He is one of a kind and his skills show it. Too bad that theres all sorts of house music dj’s barely learning their own identity or their identity is being half naked girl 😂 ….
😂😂Playboy's Centerfold DJs. Pretty soon there will be a class of tastefully naked female DJs, still doing nothing in regards to DJ'ing.
“Edits on the fly” mix sounds like something by the Chemical Brothers in ‘98. I dig it but vinyl is soooooo much better.
He still sounds like Montréal! Ma' man
Would love to be at a night were its A-TRAK vs JAMES HYPE vs DJ EZ
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Or A-TRAK AND James Hype B2B on 8 cdj 3000's!
James hype or atrak? or bad house dj comparison?
Wow !
Out to A-Track cuttin up Brand New Drop with the Basment Jaxx. :)
Amazing, and cheers for pickin my tune! Skills are unreal!
who mix better, him or James hype?
Can’t wait till I get my used very good condition 2001 Pioneer DJM400 from eBay so I can play with the sampler over my vinyl setup lol #truth #strictlywax
That triplet is not for me but everything else is cool
Missy VS Oizo was wild just sayin

Atrak b2b James Hype would be massive
now do Tiesto 😂
Вы украли рубрику у Ean Golden, с DJ TechTools, "How I Play".
This video would be during more than one hour
And the kids these days go mad for James Hype....
Doesn't get close to the same league as A-Trak or even Craze.
ua-cam.com/video/F2oh1x2bFgs/v-deo.html This is the only A-trak I want to keep in my mind... His terrible EDM tracks and label is horrendous.
He still looks like a child
He has a tiny frame
@@CarloDanger and no shoulders
@@birddogfreemann he seems cool af, I feel bad not talking shit.
Who cares? He’s a man amongst boys when it comes to skillset, knowledge and humility
I’ve seen a track live and his mixing is terrible!
There’s just nothing impressive about cdj-ism. I know it’s not fair, but it’s just the way it is. Every “edit” sounds like ass. And all the button flicking makes you look like James hype. If you want to make edits, do it in a DAW and play it on the cdj. At least you can perfect it and make it sound half decent then. I know Atrak is a legit turntableist, but this cdj stuff just doesn’t show off his skills at all.
I couldn’t agree less. So you’re saying it’s better to just do your work at home and not put on a show for the live crowd? Like most festival DJs that just dance around and make heart hands. A-Trak rules and so does James Hype!!!
