Get your popcorn! This choreography was a JOURNEY. This class was a JOURNEY. I've never been more excited to share a combo with the world in my life. This may sound strange, but this is honestly the first thing I've ever made that I actually feel proud of. I've been grinding every day for over a decade, working on my choreography tirelessly, never liking my work. It has taken this long to finally allow myself to feel proud of something I made.
I'm always so busy saying "next", rushing to make something new, so no one can catch me...I give my choreography away to the world for free, because I've been called to make it a better place through my art. But that doesn't mean I don't take my creative process seriously. I'm extremely protective of my work and my creative process. My work has been stolen too many times to count, and this is something that happens often to choreographers, as there are currently no copyright laws in place to protect our intellectual property. It's bananas! Hashtag choreographer problems.
I get paid zero dollars for these UA-cam videos, zero dollars for all the social media videos combined, and even though it may seem insane, I find great joy in sharing these moments from class, that are completely authentic and real. Class is and forever will be my happy place. Dance is just the vehicle I use to help people heal.
For whatever reason, I'm the vehicle God is using to create this space for these incredible dancers, despite my brokenness. He gets the glory for getting me through this class, and for filling the room with so many amazing souls week after week.
Each dancer went on their own journey in this combo, and it is reflected in the STUNNING endings captured by my favorite media crew, PandaKo! I will never forget this night or the energy in this room! Even though it is hard sometimes to keep grinding, I am so grateful for this platform I've been given! I know God was in the room on this night.
Thank you to my support team who helped talk me off the ledge and gave me the courage not to cancel this class. You know who you are. I can't believe this class almost didn't happen, but am beaming with gratitude for these dancers!
There's so much I want to say, but I'll let the work speak for itself. A massive shout out to JVKE, who gifted the world with one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, and seven layers of choreography later, I finally landed on something that makes me proud I didn't quit.

I had (minor) surgery this morning and was watching this as I was drugged off to sleep. The anesthesiologist (who was a former ballerina) asked me what I was watching and was blown away watching Dre's choreography. Literally the most beautiful, magical thing I've ever seen. They all did amazing!!! The third one was the one that caught my eye a lot! I can't stop replaying it. She did wonderful 💗 . I loved how expressive she it and how smooth she is in her transitions during the dance. They are all really skilled overall and I can feel all the emotions through the video, I can't imagine how it would be in real life.

Thanks so much, this one was based on the concept that fear is a liar! Within hearing the first note of music, there was a creative charge, which I always look for when searching songs, but creating this felt like I jumped on a moving train and even with 7 layers of choreo, this process was rapid. I still don’t feel done with it actually! The first move is the dancer shooting an arrow and catching their person, and it sort of moves from there, but a lot of the choreo was instinctual, rather than over-thought if that makes sense!? I tried to embody where this stunning song actually came from, and the depths of it felt like home in a very odd way. Once I removed my own self imposed limits and just made what I felt like making, God kinda took over 😂

Yeah, I thought some of the choreo was really sharp and hard, but it did contrast really well with the flourishes and slower parts.
2 years later and it's still my favorite choreography ever. @3:03 This is how I'm running to Jesus when I get to Heaven 🥹.
