30 years ago summer breaks for kids were still 3 months long and kids still went out to play with their friends. Maybe they's shoot each other with the hose in the middle of the day, but they didn't have to worry as much about instant sunburn or potential skin cancer. It definitely wasn't as hot outside.
Here in phoenix,AZ we have had triple digit heat almost every day since the end of May. I've not seen any spontaneous combustion, as a matter of fact, almost zero wild fires in our national forests.

13 of the 20 largest California wildfires have been within the last 5 years according to NASA and other research. CalFIre statitics also show an increase in fire duration, severity, and size within the last 20 years. CalFire Statisitics are on their website.
