  • Here's a simple clasp for your polymer creations! It does not require a template. I think it works best when you need a clasp of a smaller scale.
    Cheers, Donna

    Very nice. Would holding the drill bit on top of the clasp to find the depth and putting a piece of tape to show where to stop work? Carpenters do that so they don't drill through a piece of wood.

    I usually just make a flat clay bead on one end with a hole in the clay that goes partially through and insert a magnet ,and make the channel for the cord from the other end of the necklace to lay in... then attach an opposite magnet on the cord at the other end of the necklace. It remains flat and the magnetic " clasp" is hidden.

    Thank you, friends. julie, great idea to find the depth. Lol. Finding tape in my studio would be the hard part! Jo, I am working on getting them made again, should be fairly quick. The acrylic makes the process so easy, I hesitate to do a pdf! Linda, yes, I will do a tute on the more difficult one. I love it, it’s not really obvious how it works but it’s really a good closure. Thanks, again, friends, am glad you enjoyed the tute! Hugs, D❤️

    Have always admired your work . Thank you so much for sharing. Can you tell me when we will be able to buy black out in stores like Hobby Lobby or Michaels? I also will add a tip that I do for not drilling through my pieces . I lay my drill bit down and measure how long it need to be and mark it with a piece of painters tape. I have been doing this for years with my wood working as well.

    • @grittykitty50
      @grittykitty50 Рік тому

      Do you put the painter's tape on the drill bit? I just recently saw someone on UA-cam do this to control the depth of the hole.

    could you please show us the clasp that sits beautifully. ( the first one)I know you said you wouldn't put it on a piece that you would sell but I love the way it sits. Thats how I would like my piece to be finished?

    I love this thank you 😊 can I ask though 😀 would you consider selling your plastic clasp template as a downloadable printable PDF for us international peeps? I love the idea of it but shipping makes it too expensive. Many thanks again for this wonderful tute.

      @Donna Kato - A Life In Polymer Clay Hi Donna thank you for getting back to me 😀 I did manage to get a template through Cara I just haven't had chance to use it yet. I plan on making a few blanks in one go ready to decorate to match the piece I have made at the time. Thank you again for taking time out to get back to me

      @@DonnaKatoArt That's amazing. Your ability to create the way you do with the measuring, and configuration of the parts is really a rare talent. I bet you were that kid that could solve the Rubix cube with her eyes closed. 😂 ..I wonder which one you inherited your artistic talents from. My mom is an artist and my dad was a math guy and School Principal. So, its very clear that my love of creating "things" comes from my mother.
