Very well done - thanks for that! Look forward to seeing how the PPF settles over time. I'm thinking of doing the same, but with a carbon fiber wrap that matches the dash/door trim.
I considered that too. Vinyl might be easier to work with, but I figured I could use the PPF for other things like mirror caps and headlights. Also, with an opaque vinyl you would cover the gear indicator (unless you made a cutout for that, but my hands aren’t that sturdy lol), if that matters to you. There are cut outs available on the internet that are computer cut so you don’t have to worry about that.
It's inevitable with a piano black plastic piece. Installing PPF over it could hide the scratches, so you can still do it. There are also vinyl overlays and covers that fit over that piano black piece to protect it. Check places like Amazon, Etsy and eBay for those!
For anyone else that does this. Not really worth taking the plate off completely. It’s such a PITA to get it off (I had to use zip ties to jam in the clips and slowly work each one out while slowly overcoming the resistance of the sticky tape that’s adhering the plate to the mount.) Just finished it tonight and realized since I did not use see through wrap I cannot see the gear indicator 😂 at least it’s on the dash.

I have an ‘24 Impreza and this looks the same. What is the part number? Do you happen to know?
The Crosstrek and the Impreza are essentially the same. The process should be the same for both cars. What part number are you looking for?
Oh, the piano black part you covered up.
@@CM-wd9uu I think the part number is 92169FN00A, but I'm not 100% sure
@@wildxtrek thanks. Those diagrams are hard to read.
