The way that BW are treated by the health service is diabolical and I am in the UK. We've all been through it & have a story to tell. I' m sorry you experienced that but glad to see that you are doing well! 💕
I didn’t find out that I had a fibroid until I got pregnant with my son. They noticed a 6 cm growth close to him on one of my sonograms. I had to have sonograms taken and see my OB every month up until I was six months pregnant. I went past my due date to 41 weeks and my son had not come. I went into the hospital to be induced. I was given some meds to start labor and labored for 12 hours with no progress. My OB noticed that the fibroid had grown into my birth canal and my baby didn’t drop like he was supposed to because the fibroid blocked my birth canal. I had to get a c-section before he started having problems. My OB was able to get him out with no issues. I had no issues afterwards. I was blessed with an amazing care team. Before that, I hadn’t had any problems with my uterus or anything. It’s still not giving me any issues, but I’m being more vigilant about it now. Thanks for sharing your story.
I just had my hysteroscopy 4 weeks ago. Had to be on liquid morphine and I woke up cold. The doctor debriefed as I was waking up from being under general anesthesia, so I didn't catch a word. The weight I gained was a shock and getting used to my new period is still an issue. I went to have my routine cervical scan (of course, I need to wait 3 months and the black nurse basically said, "the doctors won't tell you this, but I'm telling you, make plans to have your family now because of your fibroid. They won't tell us what I'm telling you. " I'm 34 with no kids. And now pricing
Yes, they really don't tell you at all. And it really does take time to get used to the new ways of your body working. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Sending you love and light.
@@dawn_heels happy to answer any questions and have conversations about the hysteroscopy. I wish I had been prepared about what to expect. But I can tell you that it's not as intense as your previous one. X
I just want to say that I’m very proud of you for sharing this as I know you was a little reluctant to do it. Your mission is being accomplished by sharing because your helping someone out there. Well done and looking forward to hearing more content from you.
I am going to have this surgery soon so thanks doing these videos. I have done some videos on Tik Tok to share my experience as I also have suspected endometriosis. Trying to educate myself before my operation pre operation. Also so sorry to hear about your toxic workplace situation I have experienced this too.
Dawn sharing your story is so important! Hearing a first-hand account of the entire journey across the two videos is invaluable. I have/had two fibroids diagnosed a couple of years ago and now worry how many may be chilling out waiting to wreak havoc! I'm so happy you pushed through to get the medical care you deserve, although you shouldn't have to. It's so vital to reinforce the message that although easily fobbed off, no one knows our own body as we do!!
Am finally a mother today , because of fibroids my tubes was block for 6years I and my husband was having issue because of my situation no child when I was Searching online on UA-cam about fibroids I saw a testimony about dr Omo so I write him and place order for his herbal today I have 2weeks old baby now he can help you too Herb's work like magic. Both on Endometriosis x
Thank you so much Dawn for sharing your journey and experience with us all. Extremely happy for you and your new bundle of joy. Following you on instagram helped me get my diagnosis for my troubles which resulted in identifying large fibroids. Will be having surgery soon.
Sorry to hear you had to go through this! GPs are a joke these days. I definitely agree that private healthcare insurance is important and if your workplace provides this sign up immediately. I recently used mine and it's been a really good experience. They were able to set up an appointment with a consultant in less than a week and I have regular checkups when required. Unfortunately you can not rely on the NHS anymore
It’s crazy because since I was 17 I had extremely heavy periods, extremely painful cramps. Although I didn’t know about fibroids, I knew something wasn’t right… I had to fight and they reluctantly gave me a scan but it was clear. Fast forward 7 years lady, my Aunt and I had a conversation, asked me a few questions about clotting etc and said to ask for another examination and found 2 small fibroids. It was a battle to get this scan and again the doctor was EXTREMELY reluctant but I’m glad I eventually received my diagnosis. Luckily they are small, so I’m managing my diet, minerals accordingly to reduce the speed of growth. Moral of the story: listen to your body and INSIST on getting referrals, even when the doctors think they “know” your own body better than you do. Thank you so much Dawn for sharing your story 🙏🏾🤍
@@sazoneevery Hey girl of course. Generally I was EXTREMELY sporty from ever since I can remember. I still maintain an exercise routine. In terms of my diet I eat 3 meals a day with veg or salad, carbs and protein. I have occasional snacks consisting of fruit or oat bars etc. I take special essential oils and women multi vits with extra Iron tablets every day. I used to take sea moss but I stopped and I'm looking to start juicing. I've been recommended by a colleague to take Inositol Complex (available on Amazon) for hormone balance but I'm yet to try it. I hope this helps x
Hi Dawn. Had to share. I’d been having a few symptoms which pointed to the presence of fibroids; your video prompted me to demand further investigation. After ultrasound and trans vaginal scan, it was found that I have a number of quite large fibroids. This after much smaller, asymptomatic fibroids had been found incidentally in a scan for something else about 7 years. I cannot help but wonder if I’d be in this situation, if action had been taken earlier. I sense a long journey ahead but just wanted to say thank you. Your video really pushed me to get to the doctor!
Wow! I have all the symptoms you mentioned to the T! I do have a couple of fibroids and a simple cyst on my right Ovary. My NP treated me as if she did not care, and said they would go away on their own to just monitor them. I asked for a second opinion so now I have my pre op appt in April. Your story just encouraged my that I have every right to fight my health. I cannot wait to get this surgery done. I have 10 kids so they can take out my uterus lol 😂 I just can’t wait to feel like myself again. Thank for your sharing your story a lot of the videos I found on UA-cam did not mention all the symptoms of having fibroids. Like the back pain leg pain and being in a bad irritable. So I’m sure this video will help akot of people. Thanks again! Well wishes!

Wow Dawn I've been subscribed to your channel for literally years now & going through the same thing atm, surgery in a few weeks time 🤞🏾thank you for sharing !!
I felt that “period pain”! First indicator got a pap and nothing. 6 months later I felt the hard mass and am now in recovery from having a 2lb tumor removed. I feel so much better from all the symptoms bleeding, pressure, back pain, peeing constantly. I’m so happy I had it removed and relieved. Just need time to heal from surgery now.
Thanks for sharing your story, it really helps me to prepare what's ahead. I complained to my doctor for about a year and half about painful period and severe pain on the lower part of my belly, and the worst part was i literally looked like a pregnant woman 😂but keeps giving me medications that it must be cramps not until i saw a Gynaecologist who told me i had fibroids. I will be having having my surgery next month.
Thank you for sharing I am due to have a myomectomy open surgery in 3 weeks time I’m absolutely petrified my fibroid is 13cm x 9cm x10cm I have been told to expect to have a hysterectomy I’m so anxious but it needs to happen
I been having very painful period for years and had 3 OBGYN about 5 to 6 years now. living in PA my OB will tell me it was nothing the matter put me on birth control to help with the irregular period that didn’t work. no period for a month or two when the is period I can’t work and the pain omg was hell. Move to NJ found another OB she said the same thing that it normal for females to have irregular period and heavy cramping. They been asking me the same question any kids no you trying yes but am bleeding 99.9 percent of the time so how? Damn today almost 10 year still haven’t find the final solution. This OBGYN I go to now said it’s polyps I just did a minor surgery on February 28. And bleeding everyday still. She recommended a fertility specialist hopefully I can get in and get help. Keep my fingers crossed waiting to be set in on a date.
I have 3...6cm on left, 3cm on right and small one against my bladder. I want children but dont want them to grow back before I do. Did they tell you how fast they might grow back?

its fibroids dying when you get pregnancy and that very painful .Its like labour pain fibroids dying when your pregnancy.
Not necessarily, mine grew and I gather they typically do due to the hormones in pregnancy which can exacerbate the symptoms.
