Thank you for having me help you in this video! ❤️
Delighted to see you part of it. Subscribed to your channel already
I like it when both of you work on the car together. I have an old VW I'm driving around and fixing up, but I plan on pulling off the body and doing a full restoration with heater channels and floor pans. These videos help a lot.
Heather you’re a hottie just subscribed ❤
@@ArthurSmallidge thanks very much. I appreciate that. That’s what I’m doing to her 77 soon as my current project is done. Lifting the body off. Good luck and all you do my friend.
@@bobwalter3375 thank you, my friend!
The early 90's Chevy/GMC full size trucks with 15in steel wheels, had stainless steel trim rings. Perfect for the stock vw wheels. Had some many years ago.
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle now that I had no idea about my friend. Thank you for the tip. I really appreciate that. I hope you’ve been having a very nice weekend.
How fun is this! You 2 are perfect together in every way, every day. Keep filming and smiling!
Thank you my beautiful friend. I truly appreciate the kind comment. You always make us smile.
Have a great time at your picnic! 😊
Thank you, my friend, I wished you were closer you could’ve hung out with us. I hope you’re doing well. Keep smiling.
It’s great that you didn’t “edit it out” it adds to the video and like the video when your daughter is washing the car was nice. In my humble opinion you’re really doing the right thing with your channel. (As a fan, I appreciate watching your videos and I don’t even have nor ever have had a Volkswagen 😂 I watch and sometimes listen in the background just to understand how Beetle works and if I ever purchased one I’m already prepared to handle problems especially overheating as an example. Thank you for your detailed descriptions and I like the touch of the pause for a meme or pick parts. It makes me smile or understand exactly what you mean. Thank you again! ❤
@@dingdang3845 well, thank you very much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful comment I truly appreciate that. We need to get you a Volkswagen that’s for sure. I tried to keep it very real and down to earth. I don’t like putting on an act. I like people to actually enjoy what they’re seeing. Although sometimes I’m sure it can be boring. Thank you for being here, my friend, let’s get you hooked up with one soon!
Like these videos, helps with my old 74 Super Beetle. Maybe someday you can make a vidoe on repairing the big crack in the super neetle dash board? Love it when both you and Heather make videos together. Thank you for all the helpful videos.
@@ArthurSmallidge thank you my friend. I appreciate you being here. Oddly enough, I just pulled a 73 dashboard down, pretty much the same thing out of my rafters that’s got 1 million cracks. I was considering restoring it just for the fun of it maybe I’ll film that.
Thank you 😊
Great video.very helpful for making old bumpers look a whole lot better.i have a 74 super beetle with lots of pin rust so I will definitely try this.
@@user-gd4kk3cz3w it can’t hurt to give it a try. According to Heather, the baking soda paste did the best job. I would have to agree with her.
more Heather. Great partner in life who loves bugs. What could be better.
@@1Rooster338 thank you very much! I must admit I am truly lucky after 34 years she still stands by my side strongly.
❤ Thank you!!!!
That was so much fun watching you, Heather, in action, sitting tall and all! I would love to come to the picnic! But I'm too far away to make a day trip (I'm back to work by then so I can't take off at the beginning of a school year). Next year, I'll be retired!! So I can come to the 2nd annual picnic! The baking soda solution reminds me of my cat - no need to buy expensive cat toys, just toss a twist-tie from a loaf of bread on the floor and she's happy! Cheers!
@@TrixedOut thank you so much my friend she truly is my soulmate and a lot of fun. I never know what she’s going to pull on me, but it’s nothing ever bad that anyone can’t see so I just leave it in there lol that’s right you’re back to work soon it’s almost that time.one year ago! Thank you for your service with teaching. I appreciate that very much. I hope to see you at the second annual picnic my friend anyway, I can help you get to it let me know. Cheers my friend.
Thank you! I’m excited to meet you next year!!!! 😊
Yes I’m all about cheap, give a kid a box they will play all day!
Truly the baking soda was the best!
Awesome job!! Thanks Heather.
Thank you so much my friend.
Thank you 😊
Did I hear that Heather is bringing cookies.🤗
Say "flat bladed beetle bumpers" 5 X fast.
Lol, I refuse to edit it out most things even if we goof up I think it’s fun. Oh yes, it’s almost cookie time lol.
😂 it really is a tongue twister
Yes I am bringing the cookies! 😊
I had a can of Never Dull from back when it was Eagle One (1993) that was still perfectly good last year. In fact, it worked great taking the haze off of a Passat's polycarbonate headlights. I use it regularly on my '63 Beetle chrome, rims, and bumpers.
@@TheJorgSacul honestly, I really like that stuff. I used it on my motorcycle when I was a kid. And I never forgot how well that works.
I knew you were a smart man! 😊
Back in the day, i used DuPont chrome polish.. it came in a chrome can and worked pretty well.. But since then they have many more products on the market .. I remember Jay Leno had a guest that had some stuff especially made for chrome that probably worked better than anything I've ever seen.. But i can't remember the name of the stuff.. sorry for my memory loss.. Slade thx for sharing.. Take care my friend... And God Bless...
@@garyjones2582 thank you my friend for taking the time to comment. I never use the Dupont chrome polish back in a day. I can’t remember that. Funny you said that because I watch Jay Leno‘s garage quite often even the repeats. And there was something on there about rust, and just like you I absolutely cannot remember what it was that they used.God bless my friend and thank you for being part of this all.
Lol, guess who's taking over Slade's Channel 😂❤
@@MarkLoves2Fly I think that’s been her goal all along. When you see her starting to rebuild engines, you’ll know I am tied up in the house lol thanks for being here my friend.
I’m in the drivers seat now 😂
@HeathersHaven I enjoy seeing both of you and your interactions. You make a great pair.
Thank you that was very nice of you my friend. I truly appreciate that.
This was great info, I've been wondering what I could do with my rims.
Thank you!
@@OwhyeeVdub i’m glad you liked it, I it has been very helpful.
Enjoy your program very nice
Thank you very much. That was very nice of you.
Excellent video Slade
@@ZackHarding thank you very much. I truly appreciate that.
I never knew baking soda was a good rust remover… we’ve always used Comet and Brillo pads …Great Video as always 👍✌️
Yes, another good way to remove us. There’s quite a few ways I was trying not to make the video too long. I hope you have been doing well my friend.
nice job.
@@jimstewart6145 thank you very much, my friend!
I only use tin foil and soap and water on chrome
I was going to do tinfoil and soap, and also Coca-Cola but I realized there was too many videos out there on it. Can’t wait to see you soon brother.
I like foil and water
Yes, I absolutely did see a few videos on that. I was just trying to do something a little different. Thank you for commenting.
I’ve had great results with Quick Glo Chrome Cleaner / Rust Remover! Thanks!
@@capcom1971 thank you for leaving a comment. I appreciate that. For some reason I remember the name of that product that I can’t think why. I’m going to have to look it up and maybe get some.
Not sure if you guys realise, but when this video appears in a list, the video time/length in the bottom corner hides part of the title, so it reads "quick and easy meth" 😂. And here i am having clicked on it 😆. Jist kidding, love your videos, keep 'em coming!
Omg 😂😂😂😂 that would explain the extra views I was getting lol
you know the funny part I try to watch where I put stuff because soon as UA-cam puts their stuff up, they cover half your stuff up. At least that was a little entertaining. Lol thanks for being here Mark I appreciate it.
Awesome video!
Thank you very much. I truly appreciate that.
WD40 & steel wool. Wipe off with a rag
Yes, you’re absolutely right! I was trying to do a few things that weren’t seen as much on UA-cam and things that I use often. Thank you for taking the time to add an extra tip and your comment.
did you try a sos pad? or soap pad you might call it there
I actually have used those before, and they do work quite well. I was trying to do a couple of things different than what everyone’s used to seeing on UA-cam. Thank you for stopping by.
Can someone help me with a wiring diagram for a 1978 super beetle? Thanks
The official VW Bentley manual can be bought on Amazon. That will have really nice wiring diagrams in the back. I wasn’t able to get them up on the website yet.
Hey how about the address of the Slades Picnic . Would love to come . Bobby, Tennessee
Ever try Coke? Strange as it may be it does work.
I've tried that on motorcycle stanchions, diet coke and aluminum foil to scrub.
Actually, I have used Coke, with aluminum foil. I seen quite a few videos on those so I chose to do something a little different. But yes, you are right it does work. And thank you for taking the time to watch the video and do a comment.
