Hi we rented to the council on a full repairable contact and after five years when the contract was up the house was trashed cost £10k to get it to a rentable standard which they only offered 2k towards . The contract was to hand it back as the same standard they got it . the only option was to take the council to court but we don't have the same finances as the council do and the court costs might have been higher than the debt owed. this was many years ago and now we own a lot of rentals and get offered lots of different deals by the council to rent to them(sometimes with substantial grants) but the trust has gone.thanks John.
@@GamingWithChubbzTV hi thanks for your reply just to put you right the council have a forced allocation of asylum seekers but they are required to house and the council administrates and supplies housing and then claims the money back from the government so the council do have a lot to do with the asylum system.
@@JohnBowman-ut4dz yes John I did read your comment but this video is about social housing via serco. Sorry to hear about the situation with renting out to the council.
@@GamingWithChubbzTV hi thanks for your reply sorry I didn't disassociate the difference between the two as it was many years ago and the council was disposing of the social housing two housing associations . I haven't had any dealings with housing associations but what I have heard from people who do it has been good usually to do with maintenance etc. I hope it works out for you thanks John 👍.
Hiya Lia, I enjoyed this vlog, its great what your doing to these properties, I'm chuffed for you and A.K, I've noticed that you haven't put anything on your own channel for 6 months, I hope you and Joel are still in touch with each other, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
Will your investor leave 40k in this deal? Or is there a plan to refinance and pull any money out? I’ve heard some lenders require higher LTV if it’s rented to social housing, supported living a bit of an unknown for me.
Here in the United States, we have a federal program for lower income residents called Section 8 programs. and there is a lottery, or you wait for your# to be called. , and it's similar to yours, but's inspected annually, and the lease's only year to year. The tenent pays 30% of their income, and the government pays the rest of an average rental rate. 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 Way to go!!
I'm 64 and at 22 lived in a 4 bed shared house which I later brought on mortgage and I still own......I'm Now in the process of renovating it up 3rd time
I know it’s normal in the UK, but it still seems so strange to me that ya’ll put the washing machine in the kitchen. It just seems unsanitary to put it in the area where you cook.
I think it comes from the fact that it was the easiest place to get access to water in a house. Modern builds are different and have utility areas. You have to remember most of these houses may be older than the USA.
Lia, I think it's really good that you and AK are participating in that government housing program! Providing housing for the less fortunate is objectively good, and I'm sure it is rewarding! 🙂 great video 🙂

Awesome job on the walk through. Keep up the good work.
I think what’s not clear is if you contacted Serco or they contacted you and how you chose the area / property.
Hi Lia. Im new to the channel and find your content very informative and well put together. Which area of the Midlands is this property?
Hi Lea,
How did you get FRI with Serco?

Social housing is definitely an untapped strategy, it’s something I want to explore as well.

How do 4 people operate in that kitchen?
😂 Do you need 4 people to cook?
Most people these days are using just the microwave and saying they are cooking. 😅😅
@@Gabriel88H.properties LOL! Yep! And don't forget the Air fryer. :)
I think it’s a 4 bedroom unit to one family.
