I am here because of Sheng Yilun. I finally learned enough Chinese and have just finished watching Sheng Yilun's drama Ten Years of Sunshine without resorting to reading the English subtitles. He was fantastic in it. I came back here to watch him in this drama. He was only 23 years old in this drama. They had to put makeup on him to make him looked older and less striking. Even with that, he looked so handsome with his perfectly proportioned figure and perfect features. He is also so athletic and elegant. He looks good in any costume and he wore a lot of different styles in Ten Years of Sunshine.

Sheng Yun was an upstanding and honest person to the end, and despite all the bad things that had happened to him, like he was poisoned by his nurse maid, betrayed by his own father who banished him after he was framed by his brother and the queen, and was almost killed by his brother numerous time. Instead of growing up to be a bitter person, he studied hard and made a great name for himself. His wife betrayed him with another man and then expected him to send troops to save her brother from her lover who started the war. Sheng Lun had a good ending.

I marveled how Sheng Yilun at 23, was able to bring a very complicated character like Sheng Lun who was a studious, kind, brave, serious and sometimes ruthless ruler who loved his people more than anything else to life. I love how his beautiful and expressive eyes telegraphed all the emotions and thoughts of his character Sheng Lun. I heard he filmed this drama at about the same time as he was filming Pretty Liu Hui Zhen and Oh my General. What a fantastic and versatile actor!
