Consort Gao was to stupid to see she was being used by the empress who didn't want to get her hands dirty.
The empress was never going to let either Consort Gao or Ruyi get ahead by having a child or have the emperor's total devotion/loyalty. And she succeeded. By the time Ruyi had children, the emperor was full of distrust of all the women in his harem including Ruyi. Unfortunately he made the mistake of keeping Yawan dispite her crimes against him, Ruyi and his children.
I did a tally of who killed the most people in the Forbidden City. Yawan killed the most, followed by Jia then the empress.
You could not pay me enough to ever be in any palace life in any time.

The empress said that her goal was to not have Ruyi and Gao have babies before her. Okay, fine. But the dumbass never switched out the bracelets after her babies. She could've easily taken the tainted bracelets and gifted them new bracelets as a sign of their "sisterhood". She was greedy and therefore stupid.
