really sad to see a hull like this abandoned to this kind of condition.

So, it must have come off its moorings during a storm I recon, drifted out to sea and no one went looking for it or reported it missing?
As I see it, it is resting on its keel and hull and someone cut out that beautiful carved wood support pole from the cabin (seen in the sales pictures). The shoes have me puzzled, when you put up your boat for sale, you don’t leave your shoes onboard…😮

I think squatters may have left the shoes. But yeah, I agree with you on how it may have gotten there. Thanks for your comment!

What was the brass tag as you went inside looked like could been a maker tag

That is a Levo-Gage. It's basically a level that tells the sailor the angle the boat is at when the horizon is used as a point of reference. Thanks for your question!

I don't get the lack of anyone DOING anything constructive about SAVING this poor boat! What's the point in merely documenting the slow but inevitable decay of this once proud craft? I seem to remember you saying that you are in touch with the owner? If correct, does he, or perhaps she, have any plans for removing their property from the current position? If so, then they should make a submission to the relevant authority without delay. OR, possibly they may be ìnclined to grant you the right of salvage? Of course, such a contract would necessarily have to be legally witnessed etc. Ì would be expecting to acquire the boat for a nominal sum or even for free, bearing in mind the expenses to come. I don't think I would be busting myself to get her cleaned up. For the price of hiring a house cleaning service and a rubbish skip I would definitely prefer to leave the hard graft to others! Whoever the new owner turned out to be I wouldn't expect to pay much over $5000 to get her clean enough to commence a thoroughgoing refit.

No, unfortunately, I did not locate an owner. The next time I head out there I'm going to see if it was red tagged (that's when the local authorities have been notified and begin an investigation). If not then I'll report it myself. Thanks for your comment!
