The MV is hilarious! It's so over the top! It should be taken the same way as "Bad Decisions": not very seriously. There is an explicit version for those who didn't get that the lyrics are not actual platonic/just romantic "love". They have a fight and he is trying to prove himself to her - his "devotion". At the end she is still angry but has forgiven him at least partially because it was not about not loving him and his antics. It's funny of how it is done but in real life? Someone doing something like that-- well... "That's not love: That's obsession." But like I said: This is not that serious - it's tongue-in-cheek sexy. It's a brilliant summer song and truthfully not that deep (maybe like Watermelon Suger" and songs like that (not that I know the lyrics of that song but someone sumerized the lyrics so...))
